Outsider here. I definnitely noticed Knies. Reminded me a bit of a young Danny Paille, although you hope there's upside beyond what Paille accomplished in the league. Even if not though, he's shown he's an asset in a support role and he was often the only Leaf generating any offensive pressure and gaining possession of the puck.

Bottom line, this kid plays every game for the rest of the run. He's got heart, grit, and better anticipation on the puck than most of his teammates. He's made it, if the Leafs brass are smart this kid will never see the A again. and if he keeps skating like that he WILL generate goals.

(another guy who played a lot like Knies in his debut season? A certain Brad Marchand.)

Good post for the most part, but, he has never been in the AHL. EVER

Most of the game he was mediocre. Once Keefe moved him to play with ROR and Knies he was excellent.

For the record, Knies-O'Rielly-Nylander was together for just 1:13 at 5v5, they got outshot and out chanced, and Nylander didn't factor into the winning goal at all.
Nylander's questionable moments had nothing to do with Tavares.

88’s effort in the D zone at times is embarrassing. It’s the freaking playoffs.

I really wonder how the Leafs have Vasy's number... Thats now 10 playoff games, and hes only been really good in 1, and solid in another. But compare his stats to other teams the past 3 playoffs and its an insane difference.

I've noticed the Leafs are constantly going high on him which makes sense because hes a big goalie and covers a lot of the bottom of the net. Seems like the leafs are rarely ever shooting low looking for rebounds, its just constantly goin high. But how come other teams haven't been able to solve this?

Nothing hockey about that. Kucherov comes in stick up against a guy that was not expecting it. That crap is mid seventies, nothing hockey about that.

Only guy that is really worrying me so far is Brodie. He seems nervous with the puck. He's falling down. Getting beat. The cross checks which will eventually come back to bite him. I'm not suggesting sitting him for a game but maybe there's something wrong. We do have Liljegren waiting if need be.

I totally agree, Brodie looked impaired somehow. Mistakes and mishandling of the puck galore

I’m more upset about the mon-boarding call (and likely no suspension) on Maroon after he hit McCabe from behind.

Yet Clifford got 5, a game, and a suspension for a more questionable board

Winning games you should have lost still means trouble.

The second period and OT was very bad. We were hemmed in our zone and seemed to have trouble establishing anything in their zone.

Any thoughts about why we were so dominated for large sections of the game ?

That game was exhausting and slowed down, notice how Schenn got better and better as the pace came to his wheelhouse.

Where would we be right now without the trade acquisitions? Acciar scored and was a beast, ROR was amazing, Schenn, McCabe is our workhorse. Without these guys this series is slipping away from us, kudos to Dubas.
