Ok, now. So, did Tampa deserve the win? They had bunch of shoots from blue line. Beyond that, after they got the lead, they just flipped puck out of the zone for like 20 times. They allowed leafs back into it and then they lost. It was rather logical loss for them.

In the PO's, you deserve to win when you get the win. Nobody was feeling bad for us when Montreal would win in OT against us. We flipped the script tonight.

It looked shaky in that first period for Samsonov but good see him bounce back and steal a win for the leafs!

Why cannot it be Auston Matthews. I mean he can easily run him over
Austin is 6'3 and Stamkos is 6

Auston needs to start owning his game
We need Matthews on the powerplay, it was pathetic without him and even if he's not scoring the defence is afraid of his shot.

The same playoff hockey where Tampa's allowed grab hold, tackle, punch crosscheck without consequence but we can't put our stick near their... stick?
Normal playoff hockey. Never complain about the refs. I tell my kids, both playing competitive (nothing that high level, just saying, it's not house league), this all the time. The refs like 99% of the time don't win or lose a game. You earn the win or lose, yourself, and as team. The reffing is a side product of the game happening, make your own fate.

I'm so glad Rielly does the opposite every year and plays amazing in playoffs. Regular season he looks terrible and then he just switches to a different guy.

ROR best forward on the ice again, hell of a pickup

Schenn was an absolute beast on the backend. Blocking shots, dishing out hits and shooting the puck.

Need JT line to be way better, Willy needs to be much more engaged, we need him
Giving 100 percent effort always during playoffs.

We played a sloppy game but our first class goaltender samsonov was a brick wall and gave the leafs the chance to steal the game

Sometimes it's just a case of "what you save". He gave us a chance to win the entire night with what could arguably be called his "C" game.

Also Knies looks like a stud.

Outsider here. I definnitely noticed Knies. Reminded me a bit of a young Danny Paille, although you hope there's upside beyond what Paille accomplished in the league. Even if not though, he's shown he's an asset in a support role and he was often the only Leaf generating any offensive pressure and gaining possession of the puck.

Bottom line, this kid plays every game for the rest of the run. He's got heart, grit, and better anticipation on the puck than most of his teammates. He's made it, if the Leafs brass are smart this kid will never see the A again. and if he keeps skating like that he WILL generate goals.

(another guy who played a lot like Knies in his debut season? A certain Brad Marchand.)

There's a name I haven't heard in long long time

O’Reilly might have something to say about that.
Nylander was better overall, but O'Reilly edged him on clutch factor. In the playoffs, clutch > overall better. Nylander assisted on the clutch factor though. If he was even one inch off on his play, O'Reilly wouldn't have gotten the juicy rebound to tie it.

If Nylander and Knies connected in OT then it would be Nylander by a mile (This doesn't mean Nylander was amazing, most of our forwards sucked all game).

We need more from marner-matthews 5v5. The points are nice but they're meh. If they were less meh, I don't see Tampa winning another game.

It's crazy how much confidence Knies has played with in his first two playoff games.

He was pulling some high risk dangles in dangerous areas but more often than not made things happen.

This kid is going to be a big part of our future.

And the best part is after the dangles he went straight to the net with the puck. It was refreshing to see

The proceeds of blowout stats mean nothing. RoR is carrying momentum and the general out there. The big 3 were playing pond hockey and razzled. Nylander was had like 1/3 of our shots. Rielly stepped up and it was over without Sammy.
Nylander having that many shots with the game he had is shocking. Guy was noticeable in the worst of ways.

But you are 1000% correct about this being ROR's team right now. This guy will go out there and show just how big of p***y's those core guys can be. They better start following ROR's lead.

Him standing between the benches during the penalty review and yapping back at the Lightening players was classic. That’s Big Boy stuff.
He had Hagel TWISTED and looked like his heart rate was about 30. Fantastic stuff from Schenner

This Tampa team are a bunch of turds and their fanbase are even bigger turds, I'm learning. Honestly, their core is talented but there is no class there.

Class doesnt win you anything. Out big 3 have been non factors in the game minutes. Yes they get a point but in 2/3 games ROR has been doing most of the momentum shifting and being a consistent thorn. PO hockey isnt all about stat padding. If our big 3 play like his in rd2 or rd3 we are out.

tbh it looked like neither team really wanted to win tonight for large parts of the game. The leafs were unengaged in the 2nd and the lightning seemed unengaged in the 3rd
