He’s coming back. This is our year.

It just feels like destiny.

HE WILL GO DOWN AS ONE OF THE BIGGEST!!! FINEST!! TOUGHEST!! HARDEST!! Yzerman!! Messier!! Gretzky!! Tavares!!! Already back!!

SOME HARD ROCK RIGHT THURR  WHAT A GUY! And our CAPTAIN FOR LIFE!! FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!! NEVER ANYBODY ELSE ANYMORE!!!! STONED IN STONE!!

Hopefully he isnt back too soon. Cant stand when players come back but can barely function. Whats the point of being on the ice, if you are useless.

This is the first step, they will see how he reacts to this 20 min skate. They wouldnt have allowed him to partake in such activity if other tests werent done first. He passed those tests now its time to see how he reacts to this skate.

If there are no symptoms in the next 24 hours, he will continue to skate as such for the next 48 hours before joining the team in regular practices with a red jersey on for no contact.

Once he passes that, we will probably see him against the Jets in game 2 or 3 depending what happens in first game. If the Leafs win the first game they will continue to have caution with him until he is needed.

But overall everyone should be ecstatic that he is already skating. That is remarkable.

Kept telling you guys, you collectively we’re very naive in recognizing that this was a knockout. He had a higher risk of neck injury than anything seriously brain related there. But no, always gotta be doomers around here!

No kidding eh... the over reactions on here are something else sometimes. There were people saying he had blood pouring out of both of his eyes!!! Like really..... plus, there are way too many doctors on here too. Remember those diagnosing Bogosian going head/shoulder first into the boards with a high ankle sprain......

Relax people! Enjoy the ride!

According to NHL concussion return to play protocols, since he was released from hospital he must have already successfully performed the following with no symptoms:

1. Daily activities that do not provoke symptoms
2. Stationary cycling at slow to medium pace, limiting head movement. Introduction of functional movement patterns in the 3-planer motions
3. Interval training (e.g., stationary bike, treadmill, elliptical, etc.) and light resistance training

Then today he is on stage 4:

4. Begin with skating around the rink, with gradual progression of both intensity of exercise and magnitude of movement, with low risk of head impact

Hopefully he still feels good with today's 20 minute skate.

I just want him to be ok, and return when it's safe. Glad he is doing well. I can't wait until he starts playing again.

I hope he's not rushing himself back. Hockey players can be stubborn in terms of not waiting to fully recover. That said, seeing him out there pumps me up so much.

It's insane that he's back on the ice less than a week after the injury.

Very positive news.

Concussions are weird, as someone already mentioned. Not surprising if he is good to go once the knee is good, also would not have been surprising to miss 6 weeks with headaches. Just never know. Not concerned that he is rushing it, if he’s ok he’s ok, got a top notch medical team and a young family to keep him grounded.
