Injury Report: Captain JT injury (aftermath)

It's great to hear Dubas calling out the Toronto Sun but I'd also extend that to the trash Montreal press showing Perry hitting Tavares with the headline "dramatic victory."

While its possible, you can see Chiarot clearly hits him knee on knee

Same thing happened to Hyman and he was out for a few weeks.

Kris Versteeg talked about the predatory hit Ben Chiarot put on Tavares and how that initial hit is probably what deserved the fight as opposed to Perry and wouldn't be surprised if Wayne Simmonds called him to task in an appropriate moment. Players like Ben Chiarot don't add a lot to the game of hockey other than run around and cause chaos and try to put guys on the day to day list or the IR. He can't play the game so his main mission is to make sure other guys can't either. Imagine what a hat trick it would have been for him to take out our captain, make Matthews miss a couple of games and then randomly cheap shot any other Leaf.

With the knee injury, akin to Hyman´s, JT is going to be out for at least 2 weeks.
Let´s hope for the best and that by that time frame he is good to go, albeit with a concussion protocol (?) one can never know.
If JT gets back on the ice in time for the next round, it would be amazing for us.

The knee part might just be they don't want the media hounding him to return from a concussion when he looks fine to them. They want to give Tavares a couple of weeks and throw in the knee story and it helps.

Good to see JT is doesn't have any structural damage. But let that not deter you from the knee injury. That piece of shit chiarot kneed JT in the first place. Versteeg has a nice explanation of that. Is the League going to f***ing take action on that piece of shit chiarot?

I said this the night of the injury...why didn't Foligno go after Chiarot that pos. He's been clamouring for a beating and if Simmonds or Foligno don't deliver, I'll be extremely disappointed.

Honestly Dubas shouldn't have called out the Sun. Dirtbags like Bata and Hann just get off on that sort of public indignation. Just quietly revoke their press pass and then string them along for weeks on end as they try to figure out why their reporters are denied access.

Good on Dubas for ripping into the sun.

But if you really wanna punish them just take away their media credentials for the Leafs. No journalists at the game. No reporters after the game or before the game. The sun has lost that privilege if you ask me.

I would be lying if I said I haven’t had media credential revocation revenge fantasies once or twice. The Sun and especially Slease Simmons.

I expect that paper is a bit outside of his jurisdiction. Complaining about another city's paper could come off more as whining, so he's sticking to criticizing the one in his own backyard.

Without him there may not be a next round.

The Canadiens mostly retreat to their bench. Most Leafs were around the scene but at a respectful distance. Jason Spezza, however, was right in there with the medical folks, talking to Tavares.

“I was just trying to keep him calm,” said Spezza. “Scary moment. He wasn’t really responding to much that was going on, so I was just trying to keep him calm. I talked to him when I got home and he said that he picked up my voice and recognized it, so I think that’s why I just tried to keep talking him through it.”

God I love Spezza. I really do.

Feel better JT and 100% the Leafs should revoke the Sun media passes. That was gutter-level trash, even for them.

It was good seeing Brady Tkachuk dummy him the other week:

Chariot is such a POS fake tough guy. Anytime he fights he gets the s*** beat out of him. I really enjoyed Matthews trolling him, and hope Simmonds calls him out tonight for actively attempting to take liberties on our players

Looks like a severe concussion.
I’m not a doc but those things can take months to recover from.
I just hope that he will be ready to start next season.

Looking at these pics again you can see chiarot sticking out his knee after Tavares dekes him...

Edler was suspended for a couple of games, yet Charott is not? If one thing is consistent about the NHL is the NHL is inconsistent. Bettmanagement ... coming to a rink near you.

This is also very disgusting...they could have just showed Byron's short-handed goal...it was a great goal. So what's their message? Take out one of the other team's best players to secure a victory?

Heads are strange things, a violent hit to the head and you might not see much of anything, something less violent but maybe your body is turned differently and boom, concussion. I've heard if you have a mouth guard you are less likely to get a concussion, don't know how true that is though.

TBH I was thinking more along the lines of whiplash, like Crosby's a few years ago. Happy I was wrong.
