Injury Report: Captain JT injury (aftermath)

Man chiarot is a f***ing pos. Knees Tavares, causes an injury in his knee, and then results in the freak accident of Tavares getting kneed to the face.

Kyle Dubas is terrific. It's nice to have a GM that leads by example when it comes to having character.

I was very impressed with Dubas in this situation. You can tell he cares. Watching his reaction to the hit and then running down toward the ice had me

And I completely agree with him on the Toronto Sun cover (and some others for that matter). It doesn't take much to have some common human decency but apparently those in charge at the Sun have zero capacity for it.

Get better soon, Tavares.

What did the Sun cover say that they are referring to?

As others above mentioned, it's far more likely the knee injury happened when Tavares tried to get up and fell back frog leg style. I thought that looked bad when it happened.
While its possible, you can see Chiarot clearly hits him knee on knee

Same thing happened to Hyman and he was out for a few weeks.

I don’t see you denying it. Thanks for proving my point exactly.

I didn't see you on here complaining when front page news a couple of years ago was Crosby's concussion, that lead the news broadcast for a few days. Why does Toronto news trigger you?

In todays news ..... a city with the population of 6.4 million has a little more weight in the news than a city of 780k ... get over yourself, your not that important and neither is Whinerpeg.

Hes gotta be out for a montj at least.
Which will likely be 3rd round if we make ot
The tweets are saying two weeks minimum based on a knee injury. It would be a miracle if he were back after just a few weeks given how horrible that head injury looked. But, concussions are a weird thing, and are unpredictable at best.

For his kids and wife, I hope he rests until September. I’m so happy for his family that he’s “okay” and has no structural damage. I’ve been sick for two days thinking about this nightmarish situation, just a feeling of dread especially since Johnny actually seems like an incredible dude.

100% respect Kyle Dubas for what he says and what he does. I hope that he's in charge here for a very long time. As for the Sun... never the classiest rag in town (after all, they do employ Steve Simmons)... but their front cover yesterday was disgusting... and everyone in that organization should feel ashamed. One final thing... whomever approved that image and that headline yesterday... well, I just hope that they end up on the cover next time they're in the middle of a medical emergency. It's only right.

2 weeks for knee
Id put another 2 so a month total best case

Much respect to Dubas' for outright calling out the Sun for that Trash headline/front page.

The fact that it's even a possibility that Tavares could potentially return later this playoffs is absolutely amazing news. Obviously that's not a guarantee nor is it the most important thing (him making a full and proper recovery is the only thing that matters) but it certainly helps lesson the sense of unease that happened in the immediate aftermath of the hit.
