I still got fubo so will deliver game report for this one.Another blackout for streamers... oh well...
Still have not finished that game so second part post coming up later today. On DVR watch of the US vs. Sweden gamen in the 2nd period so far. Swedes up 2-0. Leonard so far is the most physical player definitely trying to wear the Swedes's D down. Has the best hit of the game. Farraby and Leonard had a two on one early in the first but Farraby elected to shoot.
I’d like to see him be consistent. But tonight he was great. Stood out more than Lapierre. I would like to see him be more dominant.Miro just keeps making great, unselfish, winning plays in all 3 zones. Really impressive tonight.
I respect Leonards decision either way. But i really do believe this is the year for him to jump to NHL. He immediate steps into a top 9 role and learns from the core (especially if Oshie stays). I just know if it is as good for him next year even though Oshie will come off the books.I’d wager the mindset of Smith *could* easily change if Celebrini joins the Sharks this summer. He (Smith) will want to be 1C. Who wouldn’t?
Celebrini will want same. Best way to do that, is start to “stake your claim” as early as possible.
Build a future for yourself, as well as with your teammates.
Caps only have 33 out of 50 contracts on books now. 8 draft picks. Some people to sign. So they actually have a some good room as they won’t all get contracts. They are also at 51/90 reserve players. All per CapFriendly.Since I saw a thread on the main prospects forum, Caps have two guys on their reserve list who will become UFAs on June 1 if not signed. Jake Karabela and Oskar Magnusson.
Any opinions on whether they get signed?
Personally, I could see maybe Karabela - he's younger, plays Center, seems better scoring in a league that might be better - but really I think both guys are more suited to AHL deals than NHL ones.
Though Cristall hasn’t seen game action since the Rockets’ season ended in the second round of the Western Hockey League playoffs in mid-April, and is unlikely to join Hershey’s lineup unless there’s a significant spate of injuries, he’s having a blast soaking up the environment in Hershey as the Bears push for a second consecutive Calder Cup championship. (Hershey begins the Eastern Conference final against the Cleveland Monsters on Thursday.
“We’ve just seen him in practice. Obviously, a really good skill-set,” Bears Coach Todd Nelson said. “He’s a player, he’s just a young guy. Boy, he’s going to develop into a real nice hockey player in the future. His skill-set around the net is great and he’s smart with the puck.”
Aware that his skating was a weakness, Cristall began working with Aidelbaum, a former figure skater who also works with Washington’s Beck Malenstyn and Vincent Iorio, in the summer of 2022. With limited time together that summer, the focus was on improving Cristall’s natural agility — making a strong area of his even stronger.
Last summer, squeezing work in around the draft preparation process and Cristall’s high school graduation, the focus turned to the fundamentals of the forward stride, tackling everything from weight distribution on the blades to knee-over-toe alignment.
When reading that and before seeing the media my brain added "Cold Medina" automatically.Funky.
Blades to knee weight is something new. Its cool to see what coaching is like these days.
I think this is the case. He's not changing his mind based on one player leaving. His rationale for staying didn't seem to depend on having Will Smith around.Given the crickets from Chestnut Hill, should we assume Ryan Leonard is staying at BC another year? Or should we expect to hear news closer to draft time?
