Seems more like you were fishing for those kinds of responses to be honest.Florida fans on the mains are still a bit salty that we swiped Sourdif from them.
I wanna believe that's because there's a drop off after ~20 (I feel like I've seen people say that) and/or because Seattle is a poorly run franchise, but I'm afraid you're right.Seems not great as far as establishing value for the 18th pick. Samo has some upside remaining but fairly solid bit of biz done by Florida here I think (particularly given that he's due for a raise).

Not really. People bring up past trade/contract comparables in every new trade or signing thread. A net difference of a 1st vs a 6th between two players of comparable value is pretty notable.Seems more like you were fishing for those kinds of responses to be honest.
This was my first thought when seeing the trade, FLA is getting assets for a 1GYea I'm suprised Samoskevich got any kind of 1st in return. Doesn't look great for our chances in getting a legit piece. On the other hand, imagine what you could get if you sold something. Don't really see that happening either. Why does Florida need another 1st anyways? Dead set on Sokolovskii playing for them 5 years from now? Propspects are still assets I guess.
Unless, the late 1st is a more preferable asset than Samoskevich to get Hellebuyck. 9th + 25th for Hellebuyck.
Uh. Okay.
I’d say it’s an all-in move, not necessarily a good move. Value-wise, sure. But is it what they need?Everyone questioning the Panthers trade this morning eating crow now. That's some good GM work by Bill Zito
