Still really like the idea of Boudreau and Orpik as the assistants. Doubt either of them are interested, Bruce on the way out and stepping down to asst, and Brooks the opposite side with two young kids and no real coaching experience.

Orpik could bring credibility and a more assertive tone to the staff. Assistant coach is a fine spot to start, its not unusual.

Yep, here's who we already know it won't be: Some crusty old NHL retread assistant that follows his HC around from team to team... or Blaine Forsythe.
One still could be a crusty old retread though….just not the style you’re suggesting.

Is he coaching somewhere? Highly interested if so….

Doesn't he work for the Caps right now? Player development or something.
last I checked. But I'm not wild about an all in-house crew. I'd like to see some other folks from other place with other experiences (yes I know Bruce has coached a bunch of teams an Orpik played elsewhere, but...)

Oh yeah I agree 100% that is why I suggested it. My point was more along the lines of I don't know if he would want to. He made over $50 million in his career, won his cups, little kids at home is the grind worth it. Is he ready to get back into it

I'm not into Bruce either. He's a head coach, it would be a weird power dynamic with a first time NHL head coach in Carberry.
