If the trend continues - Miller never played these type of minutes. Lindgren is playing a big body game in a relatively small frame - the wear from physically could eventually start catching up with him later this season.

I think the kids will get better as the vets get better and take some pressure off them and create some space. I really think we should have Laf Howden and Kakko on a line and let them try and create their own energy, let the two top lines take the tough matchups.
After last night, I think Kakko found his home on the RW of Panarin and Strome.
Doing all the work on the boards and transition game.

Put Wilson in the PED category as well . I hope somebody gets him before he really hurts somebody seriously . He is a dangerous package playing with Ovie....both can hurt you short term and long term and a lot of the late hits look to be borderline Charging calls IMO.

How long was the last shift by Panarin.....it looked REALLY long and he looked gassed halfway through it . I thought that was going to hurt us....worked out though .

Wilson and Ovechkin did the same thing to Lindgren that they did to Lemieux last year at MSG that sparked his fight with Wilson. one hit him from behind and the other four-arm shivered him as he fell into them. it's so cowardly and lame.

but he's on his own level. he is way, WAY bigger than Rinaldo and Kaleta, faster than everyone here except Rinaldo (especially Johnston), actually has talent, and is a grade A spot picker.
the last one is important because he has no respect for other players or the game. he's a sociopath on skates and he doesn't play by the rules so it's not like you can send a legit heavyweight to stop him, Wilson just won't fight.
there will never, ever be another Tom Wilson IMO and the day he's gone will be a good day for the sport.
I think that once more trust is developed with the third pairing, that should alleviate some ice time for the rest of the D.
Not only is he not being developed, he is being stagnated and ruined.
Reminds me of Leetch in that aspect of his game.
Don't disagree with your premise but remember that 3 of the top 4 have less than 100 NHL games, are 22 and are in danger of running out of gas if we don't settle on a competent third pairing. It's far and away the biggest largest workload of their short careers. I wonder if Fox ever killed a penalty anywhere before this year. They are playing hard minutes, playing exceptionally well and they will only get better. I'm just worried that they will wear down over this compressed season.
