Wilson and Ovechkin did the same thing to Lindgren that they did to Lemieux last year at MSG that sparked his fight with Wilson. one hit him from behind and the other four-arm shivered him as he fell into them. it's so cowardly and lame.

frankly if someone takes a baseball swing at Wilson's head, the world would be a better place. he's a criminal on skates that routinely breaks the rules and "the code" with his hits.

Wilson breaks the rules on hits literally every game but he does it so often that they just don't penalize him for it.

half of his hits are late or charges. it's ridiculous.
I think that what he did to during the playoffs a couple years ago, and especially to that kid on Pittsburgh, propelled the Caps to the Cup. (I’m not saying that in admiration). And Trotz looked the other way. And the league didn’t know what to do. For me, there’s always a proverbial asterisk next to that Cup win.

(For the record, I like hard-hitting hockey and don’t even mind a fair fight. I just can’t stand dirty hits that aim to injure. For me, that’s not hockey. Just my opinion).

Wilson needs to be hit like he hits others, but he's a chicken, never carries the puck so it never happens

I hated grey color frame around numbers - not enough contrast between blue of the unies and red of the numbers to read them without squinting.
Exactly, that too! Had to adjust to "dynamic" to brighten up the screen to see better, with not as much squinting, like said.

i thought the same. Also it was hard to see the numbers
Seriously. Dont they think of these things when constructing it? Apparently not.

Some players you can tell who they are, even it the were wearing a tootoo. Position they play, skating style, long reach/flowing hair (you know who that is) , face shields, etc. Much easier back in the day with no helmets.

...

I feel like this board really underrates the chemistry Panarin-Strome have together. They are game-breaking at times.

Panarin had the chemistry in Chicago with Kane. Now I can barely see even the chemistry between magician and his assistant. Strome happens to find a place to receive the puck time from time, that's it. I have not seen this season a shift where Strome made a play for Panarin, not vice versa... The better chemistry was even in Columbus with PLD for example.

I would love to see DQ puts Mika together with Panarin now, when Mika is not in his best form and you don't risk to ruin a well going 1st line. Who knows, maybe those two could find a real chemistry.

It’s not just us. Sam had more than his usual share of mistaking players for one another, and Joe did too even though he’s not known for it.

Strome's chemistry with Panarin comes down to this.

If Panarin is going, Strome is going

If Panarin isn't going, Strome isn't going.

Strome's greatest strength next to Panarin has been not getting in the way most of the time. He was the 3rd most important player on that line last year, thats the case again this year.

I wouldn't put Mika and Panarin together. Mika's game is straight up toxic right now.

When you draft guys 1 and 2 in back to back years and neither does anything as a rookie it’s hard not to look at the coach as to why.

lafreniere is literally doing nothing. And he should be light years ahead of where kakko and hughes both were going into last year. It’s concerning. How much of that is the pandemic? How much of that is not being the guy for the first times in their lives (a lot IMO) but the coach has to find spots to get these guys going. To give them confidence. He didn’t with kakko last year. And that usually starts with power play time. Quinn won’t give kakko or Laf any real pp time to gain confidence and it shows. It’s the only time the game slows down a bit and we don’t really give our kids any real mins there. Have too many guys ahead of them.

again there’s a reason it’s better for the worst teams to get the top kids. They need them to be their guys. We don’t really. Eventually we’ll turn the team over to those guys. But until then it’s very hard without a coach that knows how to handle it. Quinn sorry but he doesn’t. Does a much better job with the young D but that’s mostly because there aren’t any good veterans that he can play in front of them.

From the Laf thread...

He's been unlucky more than he's been "bad" or "ineffective."

I'll go on record and say that I thought Quinn did a f***ing terrible job with Kakko last year. With Lafreniere, it's been a tougher juggling act. It's either the right side opposite Panarin (which you hated), LW with our worst player so far or LW with Howden because Chytil is injured.

He doesn't get PP 1 time and PP 2 barely plays and has had heinous puck luck. With a few more bounces, NJD official scorers and PP1 time he's probably sitting at 6-8 points right now despite looking exactly as he has.

I do think that Quinn needs to lean on his vets a little less (guys aren't going to learn if you dont play them.) It may be time to get Laf on PP1 in place of Buchnevich too, but I'm sure Quinn would go to Strome again before even considering it.

I wouldn't anoint Panarin-Strome-Kakko as the best line ever but I'd give them lots of chances, it's so important to get Kakko going as a scorer. Lafreniere is a little tougher because Panarin is Panarin and Kreider is also playing really well. Maybe they can try to force him on the PP1 if it doesn't get going soon.
