If I were running the NYR org I would go out of my way to do something to embarrass the league tomorrow night on national tv. I mean that's just beyond the pale.

Yes, apart from leaving Wilson on a stretcher; bench brawls, dirty cheap shots everywhere, intent to injure, cross checks in the face of their goalie, throw the whole kitchen sink back at them. Make the team forfeit from the entire team ending up in the sin bin.

If that's too much, just give Wilson a severe concussion and blow out Ovechkin's knees with a legal, low hip check by a short, stocky player. Not that I advocate it, I just wish it.

So now you can punch guys with a glove on in the back of the head lying on the ice and body Slam guys grabbing their hair. The rangers need to take of business next game. Agree with everything here but my sense is the NHL will defend the actions of Wilson by saying he was only defending himself and it's not his fault Panrian is around 40 pounds lighter than him. Look I respect what Panarian did last night but if you put yourself in that situation you better be able to defend yourself. Anyone whose played hockey knows that. You don't enter the fray unless you can defend yourself and are willing to risk injury. Panarian 100% did the right thing but I would have rather him tried to take Wilson down by pushing on the back of his knee with his stick or doing something like that which certainly would have taken Wilson down without risking injury to himself. I'm not advocating for dirty plays but again- you need to know the tricks of the trade to take a guy down that's much bigger than you if you are going to enter the fray.

My hunch is the league won't do much and likely won't even suspend him a game. It's the wrong call but I'd be more surprised if they did anything/

Rangers won't defend themselves at all. i bet nothing will happen and watch until Wilson does that to Lafy or Kakko. I can see him trying tomorrow. teams around the NHL know this Rangers team won't defend themselves anyway
