Djoos placed on waivers by Anaheim.
He had a steady role on a Stanley cup winning team. Pretty sure injuries are what derailed his development. Not his sizeand this is why nobody should have been wetting themselves over a little pop in Djoos’ game when he was shipped out....classic tweener. Always liked him, just wish his physical tools were more impressive.

Everywhere has baggage. It’s just what form it comes in
His size absolutely played a factor. Remember a few summers ago they had him on a super heavy protein diet to try to gain weight and he just simply couldn’t do it. Genetics weren’t in his favorHe had a steady role on a Stanley cup winning team. Pretty sure injuries are what derailed his development. Not his size

More expensive is an understatement! Its true. California is perfect in many ways. As a result its more expensive. In many ways.

Djoos bailed out Orpik more than the other way around. The Jerebek-Orpik pairing was not good. The steady there was that Brooks Orpik was his partner
More to the point, they complimented each other – Orpik more defensively focussed and physically capable, Djoos one of the best breakout Ds and superior skaters at that time. That's not to say it was meant to last, or that Djoos would be a full time NHLer in a different partnership or without shielding. The following season Orpik notably struggled more (and was without Djoos for the most part), and when Djoos did return he got few opportunities to reacclimatise before Jensen displaced him.Djoos bailed out Orpik more than the other way around. Does this mean V is in net against them? If so could be a good sign for him getting reps against the big dogs.
Anyone got any opinions on how the X's and O's look to be changing under Lavi?

Depends – in the first scrimmage the NHLers and AHLers were mixed across two balanced teams, so there wasn't a lot of difference. Vanecek/Copley were facing Ovi, Kuzy and Eller, while Samsonov had Backstrom, Vrana and Oshie to deal with. If Samsonov doesn't play tomorrow, you could see Vanecek dominating the White net and Copley and Anderson fighting for the third spot in the red? Who knows.
I'm not convinced keeping Backstrom, Ovi and Oshie together gives them the best speed or balance across the top-6. Ovi-Kuzy-Oshie and Vrana-Backstrom-Wilson might be a better balance if he wants a different look?
Going to be a long condensed season.
