Zibanejad scored a goal in all four periods. How often does it happen anyone?
Only crappy thing about this game was having to watch the Caps broadcast of it. Can't wait to watch the MSG broadcast. f*** you NHL and your 48 hr blackout restriction. At least MLB only has a 90 minute one.
Loved the puck pressure in the O- and neutral zone in this game. Once again Panarin had some other-worldly passes.
Oh and here's some blasts from the past from guess who...
His physical side?
Putting all the pieces together??
C'mon man..If you're talking about his big 3 5v5 goals over 21 games then I gotta LOL.
Sorry just have to wonder how he is thought of so highly.
I think most Zib fans are chasing a ghost quite honestly
Zibanejad would be the first guy I traded.
He's a 3rd line C/PP specialist on any good team and completely fkn useless otherwise..
He's playing way over his head as it is right now so either sign him as a 3rd line C and trade Zibanejad or VICE VERSA.
I'd rather keep Hayes over Zib.
Trade one of these f***ers already and get it over with already lol
I really like this team.
Gorton has made the point many times. He wants players with gumption and grit. Seems he is doing a good job finding players with spine. Kudos. This team has more character than any Ranger team in my memory
He still made 29 saves in this one...very few routine ones. Almost all goalies have bad numbers vs Washington.
Also, you really wanna blame Georgiev for the loss against the Blues because he didn't get a shutout vs the defending champs? Get sober and we'll talk again tomorrow...
This may be the most I've ever heard Sam lose it
Remember Saturday the islanders play the hurricanes so someone is going to take a tough L. They play each other one more time too.
We win Saturday we’ll gain some more ground on one of them
It’s funny the 1991-92 Rangers came up. I was thinking the other day how this team kind of reminds me of them.
Obviously, they aren’t en route to a President’s Trophy this season. But the multiple high-end rookies, the blend of veteran talent and young talent in their early 20s, etc. There’s a weird sense of overlap, even though on the surface it wouldn’t inherently appear there is.
Lol!How is Zibanjead not at 100% votes?
Yes indeed. Noticed that as well and was going to inquire. Obviously he HAS worked on his shot, and especially being more focused on getting it through if possible. Much less blocked shots from 1st defender. 2nd and 3rd line of defense is totally another story.Agreed, I think he worked on his shot a lot this offseason as last year I’d say his shot wasn’t very strong. He gets his shot through traffic very well now and it has quite a bit more velocity than before.
Buch with yet another funny
C'mon man, you're being a bit ridiculous. Hags goal wasn't great. He did get caught leaning, but it was still a good shot.he was putrid and the game winning goal against St. Louis was as bad a goal as you’ll see. Don’t defend him here. He didn’t do his job. If Mika doesn’t will us to win Georgie gets torched for the 6th one most likely on the next rush down the ice
The rest weren’t his fault? I’m not being ridiculous at all. That’s a flat out ridiculous performance by Georgiev. Worse than Hank vs philly the other night.
Even The game tying goal was a shot that hit him in the chest while he was standing up with no traffic and he still lost it and popped it out two feet to his right on ovechkins stick. The Kempny goal laughable the first ovechkin goal was awful. I mean even with ovechkin shooting it was awful. And the kovalchuk goal he whiffed on it. While sitting on the goal line for some reason.
if caps got the next shot it would have gone in.
He got worse as the game went on. That’s how bad he was. No one should blame the defense at all in this one.
Not for nothing, Kovie, but on a night when Mika may have have turned in one of the best performances we have have ever witnessed as Ranger fans, your obsession with the goaltending performance is a bit odd.
That 2014 team was fun and had some really good players, but we never had the playmakers that we have now like we do with Panarin, Zibanejad, and DeAngelo.
What’s scary too is we still have young guys still developing who are going to be really good players. I don’t know if this team makes the playoffs or not, but the future is bright. Gorton has done a helluva job.
That team (and the 2015 team) was probably the calmest, mentally toughest, hardest to rattle team I’ve ever watched (until they had to face the Kings in the SCF... a team with just enough heaviness and skill to break through it)
It’s not certain yet that this team will ever reach those kinds of heights, but if they do, they’re going to have a vastly different personality doing it.
C'mon man, you're being a bit ridiculous. Hags goal wasn't great. He did get caught leaning, but it was still a good shot.
The rest weren't his fault. Sometimes the puck just finds the back of the net.
At the end of the day, Georgiev was better than Samsonov.
