I was one of the people here who was not thrilled with the Mika trade.

I always believed him to be a 45-55 point player who had a ton of talent, but only showed it every so often and always left you wanting more. Thought he had a lot of time in Ottawa to have figured it out. Even his first Ranger season was the same.

I can admit that I was completely wrong.

However, Mika is the walking definition of a "late bloomer"! His season has been one of the best I've ever seen from a Ranger. Jagr, Leetch, Graves, Rogers, and Panarin are the only ones I've seen that have had similar or better. (Hadfield and Ratelle are probably there too, just never saw them.)

I bought this last night in tribute:
Mika Zibanejad New York Rangers Adidas Authentic Home NHL Hockey Jersey
hnyradimz93h.jpg

With the hand stitching. 30% off!

That's a stretch. Mika's goals were goal scorer's goals...I don't bwelieve 95% of the goalies in the league would have had a better chance of stopping them. Georgy let in at least 3 clunkers.....looks like scouts have discovered a weakness on his right side.
Not sure about that. He wasn't gonna stop Ovie's goals.

What kills me is that he was left all alone with under a minute to play. I don't care if it was 6 on 5, someone should have been shadowing him like white on rice.

I guess it was all for the best though. Otherwise Zibad would never have scored the biggest goal of the season so far. LOL!

Oh wait,... his 4th goal would have done that anyway! LOL!

..........?

Are they implying Hall = Panarin and Butcher = Fox? What's the rest of the "parallels" lmaooo

Apparently we get cratered all game but are being carried by 1 or 2 guys just like their fluke team.

I mean this was true through the first 2.5 months of the season, but this team also A. sucked sweaty balls then and B. Has actually improved since.

Even if it were as simple as a Hall=Panarin and Butcher=Fox thing it would be stupid. Hall=Panarin is valid, no iteration of Butcher will ever be able to hold Rookie Fox's jock.

4th time in history...boomer also said that he's the 2nd player to score his 5th goal in OT

Last player to score 5 goals was last year. (Patrik Laine, WPG) Before that,.. Johan Franzen, DET back in 2011. This was quite a feat. Only two players in the last 9 years have done this.

me at the beginning of the year: idk fox scoring some points would be cool and if lindgren could be a solid #6 fine

me now: lindgren fox should be playing 40 minutes a game and ovechkin should not be on the ice without them.

You see what you want to see.

And to think, the remaining games might get even more exciting. Just what in the hell could be next? LOL

I’m not sure I can take more games like last night as I’m still buzzed and emotionally spent from what likely was by far the most exciting game of the season.

You may be right tho cause this team is so young and unpredictable, you never know what’s going to happen on any given night.

If we really think about it, when was the last time a Ranger team was considered not just by us here in Rangerland but around the league as must see TV?

The answer is probably 25-26 years ago when we won the Cup as that team was very entertaining to watch every night.

So yeah the word is out, that this Ranger team of ours just might be the most entertaining team in the league.

What’s really cool is that we aren’t even that good yet...lol

Just wait till the Kakkos, Chytils, Kravtsovs, Millers...etc...truly join the party, we’ll not only be exciting, we’ll also be lethal as well...

C'mon man, you're being a bit ridiculous. Hags goal wasn't great. He did get caught leaning, but it was still a good shot.
The rest weren't his fault. Sometimes the puck just finds the back of the net.
At the end of the day, Georgiev was better than Samsonov.

What an absolute joke of a post. "Sometimes the puck finds the back of the net."

Would you have said the same if Hank was in goal? This post is why some of us defend Hank. The hypocrisy and double standards is absolutely mind boggling.

And you wonder why no one takes you seriously on this board.

This has been a really fun season, regardless of how it ends.
I can't wait for the encore! We still have some season left and each game will be more important than the last. I believe Fox has a 5 or 6 point night in him. And it might be coming sooner than we think. This team has so much to look forward to. Vallie said postgame other teams are taking notice. Guys on STL said this team is coming.

The rest weren’t his fault? I’m not being ridiculous at all. That’s a flat out ridiculous performance by Georgiev. Worse than Hank vs philly the other night.

Even The game tying goal was a shot that hit him in the chest while he was standing up with no traffic and he still lost it and popped it out two feet to his right on ovechkins stick. The Kempny goal laughable the first ovechkin goal was awful. I mean even with ovechkin shooting it was awful. And the kovalchuk goal he whiffed on it. While sitting on the goal line for some reason.

if caps got the next shot it would have gone in.

He got worse as the game went on. That’s how bad he was. No one should blame the defense at all in this one.

I hate to agree cause I’m one of Georgies biggest proponents and I do want to keep him unless Gorton gets blown out of the water with an offer for him.

But yeah, Georgie was absolutely horrendous last night...abysmal might be being kind. It was by far his worst game as a Ranger and I agree, no doubt had Mika not morphed into Guy Lafleur last night, we lose for sure in OT and more than likely in regulation by a few goals.

Pretty much each one of the 5 Cap goals were stoppable which is very rare for goalie ineptitude.

Now that said, Georgie has been a warrior for us and has been massive for us on numerous occasions and so I’m going to chalk this up as a small slump at the wrong time.

He best come out in Hasek mode tomorrow after 3 straight horrid performances otherwise, I think I might turn to Hank the rest of the way till Igor is back which hopefully will be soon!

Why would he get Another shot after 3 garbage outings in a row?

I Will lose all respect for Quinn if he goes back to Georgie next game after all his bullshit about goalie accountability.
