What an absolute joke of a post. "Sometimes the puck finds the back of the net."

Would you have said the same if Hank was in goal? This post is why some of us defend Hank. The hypocrisy and double standards is absolutely mind boggling.

And you wonder why no one takes you seriously on this board.
First off, the thought of not being taken seriously by a bunch of people who have never played the game at any level, forget high level, isn't really an issue.
But, why don't you give me your analysis on the awful goals Georgiev allowed? I already stated the Hagelin goal should have been played better. I'll wait.
As for Hank, his last game played, he wasn't very good. My issue with Hank is that he puts himself in bad position from which he can't recover. Maybe age, but its been going on for years.

The 1st, 3rd, and 5th goals were inexcusable. Granted Staal got WALKED on the 3rd one and was basically floating around for the 5th one, but a bad rebound allowed Marc to become a factor there.

I don't love the 4th one either but fine. The 2nd goal I'm not going to put on him because Kovalchuk shanked it so it's coming in at about half speed of what you'd expect and knuckling all over the place. Really easy to point the finger at him and say "Oh he whiffed!" from the couch but those are always tough shots to handle.

What We Have to Look Forward to

-Two bonafide superstars in Zibanejad and Panarin
-Young stars in Fox, Kakko, Chytil, Lindgren that are only going to get better
-A plethora of high-upside d-men in Miller, Lundkvist, Jones, Robertson, Hajek, etc
-Andersson lighting up Sweden (with the NYR track record, I wouldn't be surprised if they talk it out and he returns next year)
-The improved game from Vitaly Kravtsov down in Hartford
-Tony DeAngelo's upside being realized
-A FRANCHISE goaltender part II Featuring Igor Shesterkin
-A head coach that makes some questionable decisions (Marc Staal out there to protect every late minute lead) but has transformed this club's mindset and the way they play the game.
-Two brain surgeon front office guys in Davidson and Gorton
-2 more top-20 draft picks coming

I LOVE THIS TEAM

I hate to agree cause I’m one of Georgies biggest proponents and I do want to keep him unless Gorton gets blown out of the water with an offer for him.

But yeah, Georgie was absolutely horrendous last night...abysmal might be being kind. It was by far his worst game as a Ranger and I agree, no doubt had Mika not morphed into Guy Lafleur last night, we lose for sure in OT and more than likely in regulation by a few goals.

Pretty much each one of the 5 Cap goals were stoppable which is very rare for goalie ineptitude.

Now that said, Georgie has been a warrior for us and has been massive for us on numerous occasions and so I’m going to chalk this up as a small slump at the wrong time.

He best come out in Hasek mode tomorrow after 3 straight horrid performances otherwise, I think I might turn to Hank the rest of the way till Igor is back which hopefully will be soon!

I love Georgie too but I’m also going to call a spade a spade and frankly he was a joke last night. I’m not trusting him with a home game the rest of the way. He’s proving to be very good on the road and a mess on home ice.

How about stops Georgiev made that Hank wouldn't? Like any breakaway, or semi break. Or saves where Hank would have slid out of position because he over commits now? Who knows if he would have done any better

Shesterkin is going to play tomorrow mark my words. Quinn isn’t putting frick or frack in there to blow 2 pts against the devils. Not happening.

Second goal: Kovi one-timer from 25 feet-bar and in. Because it was rolling doesn't mean it wasn't coming in with velocity. No chance.

Third goal: Kempny one timer from 30 feet, bar and in. I would say its a difficult one, but watching it over again, its one Georgiev gets more than half the time.

Fourth goal: Seriously?
Fifth goal: Puck was moving/dipping. Georgiev fights it off. Rangers standing around scratching their asses. FWIW, this was on Fast, not Staal.

This narrative that it was a horrendous performance by Georgiev is just idiotic. It wasn't his best, but far from the worst.

As I said earlier, he was better than Samsonov. Not taking anything away from Zibby, but a couple were gifts.

Kakko played a great game. This is absurd. Not his fault you could throw a beach towel at Georgiev last night and hit twine

I agree but Quinn has been adamant about playing the way you need to to win, he must not be doing something he is asking him to, just a guess but maybe it's just as simple as shoot the puck.

Seriously. They could not sound anymore bored when the Rsngers scored. Then every penalty we had was embellishment or a tacky call. Yawn
Inject their downtrodden-neess into my veins after we score, I LOVE it. It's like going to read their GDT/PGT. What I don't like is their over the top excitedness when the Caps scored because I'm angry AF in the moment (at AG mostly last night) and it pisses me off, but I know what I'm in for with the away broadcast so I accept it and move on

Watching closely on the ot goal Wilson was hooking Mika and he still roofed the winner
It affected him- I slowed it down and you can see that, while Mika always roofs those, this time he actually sent it off the post and then it went in off the top of the net.

He still made 29 saves in this one...very few routine ones. Almost all goalies have bad numbers vs Washington.

Also, you really wanna blame Georgiev for the loss against the Blues because he didn't get a shutout vs the defending champs? Get sober and we'll talk again tomorrow...
Yes, yes I do. Team plays a complete defensive game. Shuts down *checks notes* reigning SC champions, yet AG gives up a terrible goal to blow it. A bad goal is a bad goal is a bad goal.

I was one of the people here who was not thrilled with the Mika trade.

I always believed him to be a 45-55 point player who had a ton of talent, but only showed it every so often and always left you wanting more. Thought he had a lot of time in Ottawa to have figured it out. Even his first Ranger season was the same.

I can admit that I was completely wrong.

However, Mika is the walking definition of a "late bloomer"! His season has been one of the best I've ever seen from a Ranger. Jagr, Leetch, Graves, Rogers, and Panarin are the only ones I've seen that have had similar or better. (Hadfield and Ratelle are probably there too, just never saw them.)

How could you forget the years Walt Podubny and John Ogrodnick had back in the day?...lol

I kid I kid tho those two guys did have a couple of 40 goal seasons.

But yeah your right, the year Mika is having is right there with all the players you mentioned including Panarin. I can’t think of anyone else....I know Tomas Sandstrom had a few great seasons for us. Pierre Larouche did as well.

Probably Jean Ratelles magical 1971-72 season which was pretty much the 1st season I became a diehard fan at the ripe old age of 8...is the closest thing I’ve ever seen from a Ranger that compares to the years Mika and Bread are having.

Don’t forget had Ratelle not suffered his broken ankle with 18 games left at the 63 game mark of that year, Ratelle who had 46 goals and 63 assists for 109 points at the time, if you extrapolate that had he not gotten hurt which btw for those of you too young to recall or didn’t know but that injury very likely cost us the Cup that year as we would have beaten the a Big Bad Bruins.

Ratelle likely would have finished with 59 goals...81 assists for an incredible 140 points. So yeah other than Ratelles insane 71-72 season, the years Bread and Mika are having are right up there in on the Rangers Mt. Rushmore for greatest individual seasons ever.

Howden sucks. Kakko needs work defensively but he’s looked good in the offensive zone lately. Why are we dropping him to the 4th line?

I don’t know. Only a guess but it’s more Quinn’s dislike for Kakko’s d game rather than Gauthier getting promoted. I’m not a fan at all of dropping kakko to 4th line and basically giving him no pp time but it is what it is I guess.

C'mon man, you're being a bit ridiculous. Hags goal wasn't great. He did get caught leaning, but it was still a good shot.
The rest weren't his fault. Sometimes the puck just finds the back of the net.
At the end of the day, Georgiev was better than Samsonov.
So practically no goals in the NHL are ever any goalie's fault, got it. The puck doesn't 'just find a way in' on a wrister from above the god damned circles with no screen or deflection.

And Hags goal was puke worthy. Putrid. Good shot my ass. Every goalie in the NHL stops that shot 999 out of 100. You can laser it at 200 mph from a shit angle like that, if you're in position as the butterfly goalie's of today always are, you stop it. Georgiev's been letting softies like that in regularly.
