Ok so the shear utter glorious scifi scale of The Wandering Earth II is just crazy (and very good fx). Not saying it is a great movie in the normal sense.

Should add that 2 is the prequel to the first movie so it can be first. 2 is on prime the first one on netflix.

I mean….I still can’t get through the first one, despite the massive SFX budget….

Don't forget For All of Mankind, Silo, Severance (really good), and the upcoming Monarch: Legacy of Monsters looks pretty lit based on the trailer.

Don't get me wrong I'm feeling the streaming bloat.
None of those has intrigued me, maybe For All….If you could only watch one?

Finished up S3 of The Boys and went right through Gen V and thought it was really good as well. Maybe it was my long break from The Boys but Soldier Boy just cracks me up.

Man Blue Eyed Samurai was great. Really hope that is renewed asap.
Thanks to everyone who recommended Blue Eyed Samurai. I’m not always down with anime - but wow! What an amazing piece of art. Captivating on every level.

That and Across the Spiderverse have been some serious next-level animated content this year.

I like to think nothing in horror fazes my cold dead heart anymore, lol. But man, the dog scene elicited a visceral reaction as I literally flinched. It was like - oh ok, so nothing is off limits, here we go…
And it went on for a while….it was where it latched on and the subsequent ragdolling…terrifying….

Well f*** that then, I guess.

I can tolerate a lot of stuff but I really have a distaste for dogs being hurt in movies.

I feel as if I'm the only one in the universe who hasn't seen BES yet. Chomping at the bit. "Legend of Vox Machina" kind of anticipation.

In the meatime I'm going to be watching Pluto TAS. Anyone seen that? Good reviews so far, but the eight episodes for S1 are an hour long each. Odds are there's some filler material in there.

I hate horror movies. Super squeamish and a very good memory mean I still have nightmares
I’m not as squeamish as I once was but yeah they’re not normally my thing. I don’t particularly enjoy watching human suffering and that’s a key tenant of most horror films. I’m absolutely out on torture porn movies like Saw, Hostel, Human Centipede, etc.

I think I started to hate horror movies when I was 12. A few of us rented Event Horizon in one of the hotel rooms on a hockey tournament… one of my teammates said he heard it was a new Star Wars movie and we were too dumb to know any better and yeah, it was not a Star Wars movie.

I also had a good girlfriend of mine in high school who was a horror movie addict and she used to make me watch them with her all the time. Can’t say it wasn’t worth it some times but it felt like a steep price to pay

I still don’t like Event Horizon…Mind F kinda movie…but I loooooooove horror. Horror/comedy as a sub-genre is my favorite. I just watched Happy Death Day 1 and 2 again, my daughter’s first horror movies…she had fun.

Severance is probably the best quality but admittedly that type of sci-fi take a bit of to get into the first couple of episodes took a bit of fits and start for me to complete.

Only thing about the For All of Mankind that might be triggering for some since it is alt history and going through the tumulteous cultural issues from the 60's on up it might be too much with the ridiculous culture war LARPing that is going on today. That said there are some gripping story lines.

I enjoyed Severance a fair bit, but I felt it could have been better if the corporation involved wasn't mustache-twirling evil conspirators.

Still not nearly enough content to justify an AppleTV subscription tho.

Stumbled upon 2 "buddy" movies this weekend. Both were good movies, enjoyed both but made more for a Sunday wake and bake morning vs a friday or saturday night main event type movie

^^ french satire buddy comedy of 2 mean-well simpletons .. a perfect morning or day time light funny fun

^^ On the Count of Three .. a dark comedy of 2 buddies w a suicide pact to get to

I finished Season 1 of "Bojack Horseman" on the weekend. Pure hilarity.
The funny thing Bojack's life is not dissimilar to that of Will Arnett, the actor who plays him.

One of my favorite shows of the past decade. The show really gets into a groove in S2. Great satire, but has its dramatic moments. At times, it’s like Mad Men as a cartoon.

Dude Severance, 4 episodes in……SO WEIRD.

I kinda feel like I’m watching what happens on the other side of the Cabin in the Woods….no clue what’s happening….
