BTW I saw Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham and it was surprisingly good. The animation is beautiful and Talia Al Ghul is your official baddie and she's great in this. 8 out 10, recommended.

Also, still on the animation front, this looks promising:

Me and the lady started the series The Leftovers on Hbo. Oldie from 2014 to 2018 ish I guess.

Im diggin it.
First season was fantastic. Second season mostly good. Third season was pretty fantastic. Actually been considering a rewatch.

For the my fellow hard copy lovers TLOU will be coming out in 4k bluray falling along the path of GoT and Westworld.

Picked up a couple of blural older cult films. Lifeforce and Night of the Comet recently.

Feels pretty meh. Not even talking about Gibson. After the 3rd film was basically a video game shooter jumped the shark for me.
Yea, just watching the commercials for Chapter 4, I was like: eh, I’m already exhausted with a headache, lol. I’m sure I’ll catch it at home at some point, and it will be entertaining.

‘Beef’ on Netflix is pretty wild, with some interesting class and mental health themes throughout. A24 keeps rolling.

I'm watching. Is good, not great. Its leaning a little too heavy on the ole schtick of 'hey this is the obvious bad guy who isn't really the bad guy'. At least, until they rip that rug from under my feet.
Mostly through this one mildly entertaining.

Kill Boksoon - went in hoping Ichi the Killer .. ended up with something less. Wasn’t bad

A silent voice - anime slow paced teen struggle love story with a predictable destination. My 11 year old and her friends love it

Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die - it was okay. A paint by numbers period piece were everything was done at like a C+ level. Wasnt bad

-------------

Feel like I went 0-3 this wekeend

Apparently Mando Season 3 EP 8 (the finale) was pretty good. But I still don't think it was enough to salvage a very mediocre season.

I say Luc-ass films should drop Mando, focus all their force powers on Ashoka.

My only real complain with Mando S3 was that excessively long detour through Coruscant to focus on Elian Kane and Dr Pershing (who never showed up again). I thought they could have demonstrated The Empire/Moff Gideon still being a factor in better ways, but overall I didn't hate the season like some people did. Sure, its not Andor, nothing else in the SW universe is. Not being Andor doesn't mean it has no value.

That was the most boring episode of all time and so out of place for Mando. This season definitely had a drop in overall quality compared to 1 and 2

I just got around to watching the HBO Watchmen series, I'm on episode 7 but this shit suddenly unpacked in a way that I wasn't expecting and have so many questions about.

That said, I noticed really early that it's a Damon Lindelof show so I'm tapering my expectations for real answers.

Yeah, I think I heard they have no plans of continuing the Watchmen series. I've not seen it yet, so I don't know if it had a worthwhile ending.

And regarding Lindelof, I think I saw his name in the credits of the new Mrs. Davis show. I watched the first episode and it's zany as hell. I was entertained, but could not even begin to tell you what it's actually about. Total mindscrew, that one, but fun so far.
