Yeah Ovy scored his first goal in 10 games against us including the playoffs. And it was a 5 on 3 goal. In fact I believe we held him to 0 points in 8 straight games. His only points since the playoffs last year were 2 goals and 1 assist, all on the PP.

Lets all have a moment of silence for Machinehead, who couldn't join us tonight.

----

Now that that's done great win boyzz

Thanks Raspers! Way to pick me up on the PGT! :yo:

Wish we had Doc instead of the bozos who called the game tonight. Nash and McDonagh were stupendous. Richards is Richardsing. Hank is Hanking. All is well.

BTW, we likely lose this game with Torts. The Caps were buzzing, took 2 penalties and we basically score 2 PP goals to put the game away. Last year we'd get shutout on the PP and the Caps would have all of the momentum.

The offense has kicked it into high gear. They were close to dead last in offense a month ago. Now they're about 22nd.

Three goals or more in 7 of last 9. 4th most PPG in the league.

13th best record in the NHL --5th in the East. 7th most ROW in the NHL.

Most importantly... this is SUSTAINABLE. The way Torts tried to win games wasn't. Every series the Rangers played under Torts showed that you can not win a series against good teams by chasing them around, purposely collapsing in the defensive zone, and focusing more on blocking shots than getting shots. Yes, thanks to Hank, they were able to outlast the Sens and Caps in 2012. They were thoroughly outplayed by the Devils in 2012, and the Bruins in 2013.

If they play this way if and when playoff time comes, they can hang with teams like Pitt and Boston because they HAVE THE PUCK.

Beautiful hockey by the Rangers during this stretch.

Reading the mutual GDT Kreider was ruffling alot of feathers tonight. Which I love. Kreider is much better when he misbehaves himself.

He needs to learn how to be involved physically without taking stupid penalties. Hopefully that will come with more experience.

True but for a young kid I'd rather him take dumb penalties than play scared. Stupid is alot easier to fix than timid.

I still worry about the lack of #1 center, lack of puck movers other than McDonagh, and lack of elite players.

I actually loved the broadcast team tonight! The one guy sounded like Brian Griffin, so I spent all game picturing the play by play being announced by a small white dog.

This made me happy as well.

I also note that the present winning streak has coincided with the trade for Carcillo and his standing up to the Flyers last week. Certainly we'd seen signs the team was coming on for several weeks before he came aboard, but I think he's brought a little attitude that the team won't be pushed around. Same with Kreider's penalty. On the one hand, it was a little dumb, on the other, a little edge to their game doesn't hurt.

That's a great image for sure, but it would have been better if he put his Caps pom poms away.

I thought they were pretty annoying. If all you had was the audio of their banter you would've thought Washington was winning that game, all they talked about was the Caps.

I worry about the lack of depth if anyone gets hurt. On the other hand, I absolutely love the upgrade in speed, one of the reasons we're doing so much better is that teams now need to respect our speed and not just crash the offensive zone without a care.

Right now this is a very dangerous team, IMO. It would not be with Torts as coach.

Am I the only one who just hates a PGT without a poll?

Nope!

Good game, love when we win games in the first period! Glad to see Stepan and Nash playing well, looks like Kreider has cooled off a bit recently but it's all good he had a great screen on the Stepan goal.

Yes, when they showed the replay it looked like Hags barely got him on his glove. I'm sorry, but a tough guy like Ovi is not hurt by a half assed, one handed slash to his glove. He shook his hand as if it hit his bare wrist.

I'm glad he's OK, it looked like his hand might have fallen off his wrist there.

Great way to spend Sunday evening.

Trifecta for me. Missed yesterdays game. thought it was at night. Recorded it and watched it tonight. Watched Belicheat and Brady get there A- kicked. Then watched tonight's game. I'm listening to the National Anthem in the NFC Championship game as I'm posting this. A memorial night. I'll be up till 2am.
