just win 1 and build off some confidence. of course losing will make players hate each other for the media to talk about. one game at a time.

I would remove one of EP / Miller from PP1 for the time being.

Miller has shown zero creativity this year on the PP and EP is extremely static and reluctant to shoot from his side.

Before getting too extreme, start by just switching them. JT is the superior shooter, and maybe EP will do something different with a bit more space.

JT tends to throw blind passes from the left side, while EP loses puck battles from the right... Seems like an issue that would just sort itself out with a simple swap.

I don't think JT is the superior shooter but the idea is still solid.

Anything to force them in to being more creative.

Which do you remove?

-Miller is scoring at a 45 goal pace.

-Petey is a PPG player right now.

The team has problems but I think we're misplacing blame.

I hope we lose, really want to see the team dumping assets for picks and tank.

Its not blame for me. They seem to have stagnated in what they try to do and how they move on the PP.

It is just forcing them to look at the PP differently.

Lineup I would like to see:

Kuzmenko Pettersson Miller
Garland Horvat Hoglander
Podkolzin Aman Pearson
Karlsson Lazar Joshua

OEL Myers
Mikheyev Schenn
Rathbone Burroughs

Look at what the Leafs are doing with Marner by putting him on defense occasionally. Not 100% Ilya is the guy to convert, but at a certain point you have to start taking from a position of strength to upgrade a position of weakness.

Also, at a certain point they should also try playing their two best offensive players (Pettersson and Miller) together.

our forward D ability is worse than our defenseman.

One thing I cannot get out of my head is that preseason. We ran with AHL guys and plugs for 90% of it, then are shocked that the real lineup starts the season disjointed and out of sync.

We see good teams use that time to find chemistry in linemates and dial in systems, yet here we are 8 games in, and I don't think we've have a single game where our lines have been the same.

It was the same thing last October, it is absolutely shocking it happened again under new management.

I think it's more on certain players. Outside of Pettersson Hoglander and the Russians no one making big money looked that determined and conditioned enough to come out flying

Horvat Miller Boeser seem like they are the Lightning rods for this. These 3 guys act like they just show up and slide into PP1 and don't have to be in amazing shape on their toes to start the year. All 3 have been collecting some pts but have mostly looked too sloppy and slow to make much of an impact.

in order of AAV

Miller = D
Hughes = C
Pettersson = B+
OEL = C-
Boeser = D
Myers = C-
Horvat = C
Demko = D
Garland = C-
Michayev = I
Pearson = C-
Poolman = I

How do you win anything when that's a summary of your top paid players performances? 3 players where you could say they are living up to their contracts somewhat?

The Pittsburgh game is going to get ugly... -sigh-
schedule makers must have been laughing when they made up our schedule to start. Like it isn't enough to be decimated by injuries and not getting much from the payroll

@sting101 I agree with what you said but I think it's unfair to include Boeser with the other two. He broke his hand around the first day of practice then rushed his way back into the lineup.

And, yeah, Horvat and Miller had terrible camps and coasted their way through all of it.

Agree on Boeser.

How ever.. it seems like he will just simply never be healthy.

The losing is effecting my mode.
Being mad just isn’t my thing.

I've been truly disconnected from this team since 2011. Something broke me and my relationship with them has never been the same. It's honestly been much healthier.

We have no injuries at center yet Sheldon Dries is our 3C.

Such a poorly planned team.
