If you base it strictly on the numbers, Suter had 14 goals and 10 assists; while Hronek had nine goals and 30 assists in only 64 games.

If these guys can even match their point totals of a year ago in Detroit, that's close to 65 points added to the lineup for the Canucks next season.

That would be a game-changer from the standpoint of scoring depth.
With this deep well thought out and really brilliant analysis, have you accounted for the projected points of the two players coming out of the lineup thst these two would replace?

Big scoop. Canucks confirmed to be receiving exemption from league that allows them to dress 20 skaters from now on.

So if he can get 20 for us, that gives us goals.

Actually I just got a text from my bookie's girlfriend's personal trainer's brother's wedding officiant that he's not getting traded, so you can scratch that.
Ahaha , the depth remains!!

if you assume the following (conservative) goal totals the canucks could break the all time goals in a season record:

pettersson 45
kuzmenko 40
miller 35
boeser 35
mikheyev 25
garland 25
beauvillier 25
hoglander 25
podkolzin 15
joshua 15
suter 15
blueger 15
aman 10
karlsson 5

hronek 30
hughes 20
cole 15
hirose 15
soucy 10

Haggle all you want about who is in the what line, or if we will see Person or not (Myers would need to be traded to ice this lineup). It’s a very deep group of forwards, it does not necessarily got enough quality (given the possibility of a bounce back year or two). This team may make some noise if we can turn Myers into a decent D. I can feel us preparing to trade our first.
That would be the smallest, softest lineup in the league. It might get you to the playoffs but they would get smashed when it counts.

Great signing.

Will be interesting to see how the roster shakes up now.

Aman was one of the management wins, is the pushed to a wing spot or out of the lineup completely?

Höglander / Podkolzin I dont see both fitting in the lineup unless there is a winger trade.

I mean he can afford a house and other living expenses unlike most other people here so uh the complaints must be very different
In my neighborhood, some Karen put together a petition against a proposed 20-units supportive housing for single parents and somehow gathered more than 100 signatures.

People who can afford their homes in this town are particularly vocal about certain things they don't like.

Sure, that's an easy one for anyone with the acumen to actually check it out on Cap Friendly. How about Suter replacing Nils Aman at four goals or Pearson at one goal and four assists before he got hurt. And on defense, how about Hronek's 39 points instead of Kyle Burroughs at two goals and four assists.

Are those 'projected points' or lack thereof, good enough for you? If you did some basic research, you might have a lot more to contribute to these Boards.

Love this signing. Was hoping the Canucks could sign Suter. I had expected Suter to price himself out of the Canucks range with a contract in the low $2M AAV range. Getting him for $1.6M is a good deal. His agent also happens to be Jerry McGuire-esque (Suter is his only client)... just saying.

It sounds like Suter is good defensively and can PK. Has the offense to produce like a 3rd liner. Swiss army knife is good to have in the lineup. Really happy with this signing. Really didn't want to go into the season with Blueger and Aman/Dries as the C depth.

I think this board overrates Suter based on his JFresh card and I think he's more of a wing/5C who can play 3C minutes in a pinch (which was basically how he was used last year in Detroit).

But he's also very serviceable utility depth who can PK and he's good value at that price. Good signing.

What does that mean? 5C who can play 3C minutes? You mean he's not good enough to be 4C?

I don't think we should expect him to be our long-term 3C but at the same time I think he's proven capable of playing that the C position.

i don’t think beauvillier is special but he’s only got one year left and will likely be successful on any line. he’s the ideal 7th forward.
What gave you that impression? Beauvillier struggled here as soon as he was moved off Petey's line. He's had similar struggles in NYI, which is why he was a cap dump. He makes $4.15M AAV. Beauvillier is not a player who is likely to be successful on any line.

Ignoring that you clearly weren't doing this basic research either in your previous post, where you just added up their point totals and said they were adding that many points to the lineup:

Why is Suter only replacing Nils Aman's 4 goals? What happened to the rest of his 16 points - which leaves you with only a net gain of 8 points? You referenced points in your prior post.

Why would you be replacing Pearson's 14 games of production with an entire season of a guy? Did I not notice the Canucks just forgetting to dress anyone in Pearson's place after he was injured?

Why is Hronek replacing Burroughs rather than a guy playing in a similar role? Like use OEL, who sucked, and you're now only at a net gain of like 17 points there.

Even if we use the players you've chosen here, though, that's 42 points added to the lineup rather than the 65 you cited previously.

Successful meaning he’s passable in different roles and the coaches won’t hate him.
