So. I could see Highmore turning into this type of player and costing way less.
Allvin with a steaming Benning-like shit over all of us.
Mikheyev easily.Who would you guys prefer given the choice? Mikheyev or Marchment?
Don’t like the signing. Could have used this money for a D.
According to sports columnist Steve Dangle...Mikheyev has Connor McDavid level speed....If true, should be a lot of fun watching this guy...
I like the direction and identification of what we need, actually. That is way too harsh.
I dont agree with the direction this takes us, but the player and contract are not that out of whack in a vacuum.

Obviously , without the puck...Hence the 1/2 price off...We don't really need to spend more on defense. Just need to better distribute the AAV behind Hughes.
"Without the puck."
Initial sticker shock has worn off a bit, and he fills a lot of needs. Elite speed was a big need for this roster, and so is quality pk options. Looking at the contracts handed out today, I expect this contract will look better every season.
I do have some concern listening to Allvin today that IM might get the "foundational player" treatment. Pretty clear he's getting a look in the top 6. I don't mind this -- and interested in seeing if he can click with Petey. But if he's clearly not a fit, hope egos don't keep him there.
Guess one thing with this player is that his cap hit would maybe be better spent down the middle. If JTM isn't traded...I dunno what to think about this now, really doesn't sound like anything is imminent...then adding a C isn't as big a priority.
JTM
EP
Bo
Lazar
Joshua
(Dick)
Dowling
If this actually is the roster that will be at training camp, like Allvin said today, then adding speed and PKing is a bigger priority than a C to squeeze between Lazar and Bo.
Not at all.So you think we should compete now..?
Not at all.
I think it’s a contract to a guy who is incredibly fast with low miles. My thought is that he will be equally good in years 3 and 4 as he is in 1 and 2.
The player is helpful now and down the line. I am a huge believer in doing everything realistically possible to take a “step back” the next two years and trying to build up for something sustainable after that (year 3 of Mikheyev onwards).
The contract, I’m not sure I can get behind an AAV that high philosophically.
We have 5 years left of Hughe's current deal and 4 years left of Demko's sweetheart deal.
Do people legit think we should be tanking the next 2-3 years?
