I... don't like that for Colorado? Drury seemed like a good fit for the Avs and was a much better player than Svechkov last year who was pretty inconsistent until going on a nice little run in the spring. L'Heureux seems like not much more than a fringe player at this point unless I've been really missing something.
Yeah, I don't get why everyone is saying the Canucks need to retain salary on Petey. They should just hold their ground and say they'll only take back a cap dump instead of retaining for 6 more seasonsTuch at 30 is 10.5 million until he's 38.
Pettersson's contract isn't going to be a barrier for long.
No chance I retain at this pointYeah, I don't get why everyone is saying the Canucks need to retain salary on Petey. They should just hold their ground and say they'll only take back a cap dump instead of retaining for 6 more seasons
That makes sense. I never thought much of either of those Preds players but it's not a team I watch obsessively so maybe there's some untapped potential there.Drury is an RFA and probably going to get paid more than L'Heureux and Svechkov combined, which Avs have no cap, so it kind of makes sense on their end.
Basically getting two 23 year olds that can still grow their game out for their bottom 6 on low cap hits for one guy who will probably get $3M+
Damn, that’s deepAvs have Mackinnon Nelson Kadri Roy as natrual centre.

Knies would be great on the Sharks.
9th OA +?
Like the Colton trade, CMAc doing his old buddies a favour. He might just be a plant. NSH is gonna be COL's farm team and/or dumping ground.Wtf is Nashville doing this for?…
They're not able to pay Drury going forward. They clear him and get a replacement bottom-six center in Svechkov (a guy I've liked going back to his draft year).I... don't like that for Colorado? No, it's that they can't afford to give Drury a raise.Me neither, the Avs are taking a calculated bet that there is some untapped potential in them. Both signed cheap for the next two years and both are RFAs after to be extended or traded to continue the cycle.
Walking away with Knies and Rudolph or Smits is still a HELL of a dayWould basically put them back in the "probably not drafting Stenberg at #2" camp again.
Unless its Knies for the #2 overall, and the Leafs can then choose a McKenna/Stenberg combo or go with McKenna/Reid.

Would be funny if it turns out Sakic was actually the brains of the operation in Colorado.Like the Colton trade, CMAc doing his old buddies a favour. He might just be a plant. NSH is gonna be COL's farm team and/or dumping ground.
COL clears cap space again. Get a guy who can be a bottom-six center in Svechkov.
Sharks trading the 2nd for Knies would be the most chaotic thing that could happen. No idea what the Maple Leafs would even do with the 2nd pick.
