I suppose if the Canucks were waiving the white flag on the season, this blockbuster might make sense. But Francesco and the Aquilini's wouldn't be very thrilled.Jack Hughes for Pettersson + Boeser (50% retained) + 1st
Josh Norris for Suter + 2nd + Mynio
Allows them to remain in the playoff hunt with Norris/Chytil/Blueger/Raty down the middle and then they can run Hughes/Norris/Chytil next season.
Assemble the Quinn Hughes super team by bringing in his brother and best friend, cowards.
Feels like we'd be picking the coach over the player.I think we will sorely regret a Petey trade.

Unless it’s in a package for a signed Rantanen or someone like a Jack Hughes, I agree. I don’t think they’ll do it.I think we will sorely regret a Petey trade.
I'm hearing that Vancouver is once again listening on Elias Pettersson ahead of tomorrow's deadline. - Cam Robinson

I still think a Luke Hughes offersheet is possible. NJ isn't in a strong position to match.I will laugh endlessly, all the way until the heat death of the universe if after all these years of NJ fans telling us Quinn is leaving, we end up acquiring Jack
I can see the NJ braintrust having some real second thoughts about Jack's availability, as a contender though. If they believe EP just needs a change of scenery then I could absolutely see them talking themselves into it. Both contracts have a fair amount of risk and an extremely high ceiling.
Part of me agrees and would like them to handle things with a bit more respect, but I’m also glad they’re being cut throat on certain business decisions. What have we won with this core? This is ridiculous. Just trade him if you don't like him. This management really likes to drag things out and destroy a player's value (and confidence).

<cough>Edm was probably stiffing around Soucy as well.
