I thought Florida/Reinhart would be a done deal by now given their flexibility with the extra year.

Weird one. Both sides talking a good game, and there was some speculation they were waiting on the Cup parade and celebration today to announce. But yet here we sit, with him on the verge of UFA.

Lots of interesting value options kicking around right today that I hope the Canucks take a look at:
- Boqvist
- Nylander
- Skinner
- Schmidt
Feels like those guys could be had at cheap money and provide some value further up the lineup.
Still prefer they go after a bigger name though.

I remember when a poster on here was certain Lundkvist was better than Hronek.
Lundkvist and Brannstrom are cautionary tales on the erratic development of NHL prospects.

Lundkvist was at one time a top prospect for the Rangers; and Brannstrom was the centerpiece of Ottawa trading Mark Stone to the Vegas Knights. Now both guys hit the market at the same time. And from all reports they'll soon be joined by Adam Boqvist in Columbus.

I suppose the moral of the story is that as a relatively undersized d-man, you need some offensive wizardry to survive in the league.

that durzi extension is more evidence that the yotes/utah's previously unused cap space being in play once again is going to inflate the market as much as the cap increase. it's not just the added liquidity of $30m but where they are going to deploy it trying to catch up and gain credibility as a place to play.

lundkvist, brannstrom and boqvist all getting unqualified is quite a statement by the collective league braintrust just days after quinn hughes wins the norris.

hopefully it doesn't arise from a pending change in reffing approach.
