I don't have a problem with JR and Alvin taking their time to get the right deal.
Going on the record once again that waiting until an offer with fair value is 100% the right move here.
Even if it means waiting another 1, 2, 3, 4, even 5 months.
Miller has 14 points in his last 16 games. Unless you are getting value comparable to a PPG player, you wait.
It's fine if the value comes in the form of a package, but the value has to be there.
Now is not the time for a desperation trade. You don't have finite assets. You have to manage them properly.
Accepting a lowball deal just to "get something done" is Benning-level thinking.

Chytil + Sykora + 1st (top 10 protected) doesn't do it for you?Kind of hard to be excited knowing what the likely return is from them.
Honestly, after all this, I am sick and tired of BOTH these guys.
What happened to playing for the crest? Is that not a thing anymore? Unless behind the scenes something crazy vindictive happened... For the love of God, grow up, stop being so immature, and work together for a common goal a goal you guys were close to pushing for just LAST season.
Pettersson needs to take criticism better, and JT Miller needs to stop talking so much crap apparently in the dressing room that it's downright pushing people away, stop being an asshole. This is the NHL; you are getting paid a stupid amount of money.
This is your job, this is your pride for the jersey. Canucks fans have supported you guys through this crap, chanting JT Miller's name 1,000,000,000 times and chanted "let's go Petey" when he was just dreadful for months.
This is honestly becoming a joke and if you can't figure it out because of your selfishness and hate for each other, both of you pack your crap and find another team, trade both and tell Quinn what he wants, and communicate the entire way through.

Update: I calmed down a bit, but this whole situation is so annoying, I feel we need too trade both our Star Centers over this, which is depressing as hell man, We were so close last year

Everybody always wants transparency in what's going on, we are given transparency
It's quite clear to me that this stuff aggravated after Horvat was traded 2 years ago. It was ignored last year because the team was winning. Miller could not bully Bo since he can fight quite well and would put him to sleep. They had this "cold war" type of conflict going and management choose Miller over him. Once Horvat left, Miller could do what he wanted and here we are. Once Miller is gone i'm sure we'll hear a lot about wtf he was doing behind the scenes.
There's just as many spoiled brats as there are assholes in the work industry.
The problem with the the people who are defending Pettersson to this degree is that you are ignoring that if this is really what is happening, that Miller is some raging bully and Pettersson is completely innocent in all of this, then Hughes and the rest of the team are ableist's in the whole thing.
Was Horvat OK being captain while Pettersson is being bullied in the locker room? Now Hughes is OK with it too?

I heard that interview with Hansen. He qualified his comments by saying that he was not privy as to what was actually going on behind the scenes, he didn't know - just like the rest of us.Janick Hansen was just on the radio and said it's not a bullying situation, if there was any sort of bullying situation, the players and org would handle it internally, no question.
Guys... I'm exhausted.
I miss it so muchRemember when we used to bitch about having Keith Ballard as a #7 defenseman?
This and David Booth not being a good enough second line winger were our only worries.Remember when we used to bitch about having Keith Ballard as a #7 defenseman?
Feels like Rutherford is just publicly shaming them now. Like yeah you two are the reasons we haven't been as good as we can be and sure we'll trade one of you if we have to. Before it was outside noise now it's from the horse's mouth so we'll see how they respond. Last season they worked well enough together to give us our best season in a long time so there's no reason they can't find it in themselves again.
Strange nostalga, I miss having Pouliot as our #5 and Gudbranson in our top 4 while Sutter and Beagle traded spots as our 3C...This and David Booth not being a good enough second line winger were our only worries.
We sure had it good during the Gillis era.
Have been away from following the team, but after getting caught up the last few days, in the end of the day Miller and Pettersson (especially Pettersson) have not been performing. I think when you have someone like Hughes distribute the puck like that, you kinda expect your top centers to be performing in points. I think they’ll get move soon, I don’t think management believes in these two anymore.
I mean the interview was very open but didn’t delve into what I was referencing at all. We are now in the unusual position of our star players caught up in a rift that is damaging the team in every way thinkable, and it’s completely out in the open. Yet beyond reference of a rift there’s not really any details. I’m suggesting that for the situation to be at such a dire and devastating point, this ‘rift’ must come with a whole lot of crazy baggage otherwise I’d hope with all that’s at stake they would have found some type of resolution. I just find as a fan it’s extra frustrating and perplexing to think about it. Like what in the actual hell is going on.dude JUST posted one of the most frank interviews I've ever read from an NHL exec.
there is nothing more "sinister and salacious" happening.
I miss Ronalds Kenins having a generational 20 game run as a Raffi Torres reincarnate with more skill. The Latvian LocomotiveStrange nostalga, I miss having Pouliot as our #5 and Gudbranson in our top 4 while Sutter and Beagle traded spots as our 3C...
