Bruins traded RHD Carlo for Minten, 1st, 4th then traded a 4th for RHD Jokiharju.
Jokiharju, Minten, 1st for Carlo
I dont believe for a second we couldnt have gotten that for Brock Boeser from one of 31 NHL teams at 3,325,000 after salary retained.
This is just piss poor analysis.
You think that a UFA non penalty killing, slowfooted player who is having a bad year and who hasn't pissed a drop without Miller would garner a similar value trade as a top 4, 6'5 penalty killing monster with another year left at a good deal (and with retention)?
I don't have to go deeper then to say that you're so far off on this it's wild.
I like how this organization is always going with the Lloyd Christmas argument, "you're saying there's a chance? Yeaaaahh!"
A declining Pettersson, a Hughes with multiple injuries and a missing Demko can somehow pull a St. Louis Blues.
Nothing will change unless Aqua sells the team. He will never rebuild and lives in that dream.
This zero sum hfboards bullshit gets so tiresome. Like if it's not a cup year we should be endlessly rebuilding.
This has been a challenging year. Our core and learn from the experience of a playoff race and a first round, even if that's all we get.
If we could have gotten a crazy combo of prospects or picks, then it might be worth foregoing that. But trading Boeser for f*** all because we're not going to win the cup isn't how sports or humanity works. Unless you want Buffalo purgatory.
Just checked in on what the Canucks did at the deadline and saw they did absolutely nothing except trade Soucy.
I mean, my interest in this team is just evaporating. There's absolutely nothing to cling to. At least during the Benning years I clung to the future when we had Bowser, Pettersson and Hughes as core prospects/young players. Well we know the fate of that core now. And management seems content spinning their wheels...
I'm getting too old for this, man. If this is how it's going to be then whatever. I have a lot of other things I'm interested in.
Then go do something else.
passing on this deal (if the info is legit) seems like an incredible misstep. even if it was like the dallas 2026 1st and kk for boeser and willander i would have been all over this. kk isn't the top 6 c they need but his deal is great for a 3c and the 1st would have given them ammo to go after another center in the summer. kk would have been a nice piece to have for the playoff drive too
losing a prospect would hurt but willander seems much less important with hughes, marcus pettersson, hronek and myers all signed for the next two years and elias nils pettersson, kudryavtsev and mynio all tracking well and there's no one else that comes close to the value of that 1st
You have some of the most bizarre takes I have ever seen.
That trade would go down in our history as top 3 worst EVER.
Kotkaniemi was a bad gamble and is negative value. And Dallas' first a year from now won't be higher than like 26th overall likely. And for that you would dump Boeser AND a dman who was built in a lab to play in this era and absolutely shut down opponents?
I haven't made a judgment on your ability to assess forwards or goalies, but your assessment of D is crazy. From comparing Hronek to Myers (and dying on that hill) to this. Just bananas.
