I know we’re kinda flopping the tank, but you add Hronek, Gavrikov, and Reinbacher (maybe Livingstone if he hits) to this defence and that is a rebuilt d core. I dont think there is very much you can do outside of a Toews type landslide win trade to improve beyond that

The easy part of rebuilding a defence is that there's only 6 of them. But I expect Gavrikov to sign for at least 6x5.5I know we’re kinda flopping the tank, but you add Hronek, Gavrikov, and Reinbacher (maybe Livingstone if he hits) to this defence and that is a rebuilt d core. If they sign Livingstone it will be months before the draft. How would either acquisition have any bearing on the other? It’s an improvement for sure, realistically the team maybe lands one of Reinbacher or Livingstone - no way they get both. And Gavrikov has to actually sign here as opposed to re-signing in LA. This defence would at least give the team 3 legitimate top 4 defenders instead of 1. It’s a start…the back end will take a few years to sort out imo. But agreed that if they manage to do the following they would’ve accomplished a lot.
Hughes - Bear
Gavrikov - Hronek
OEL - Livingstone
He's got that gleam in his eyes!

I would buy that if he wasn't total dog shit the second half of the season before the world championshipA healthy OEL would be a good player..imo..
After fracturing his foot at the Worlds last off season,he should was never right all season.
It’s the best idea to shut him down until next season.
Well, he's untradeable and a buy-out is gross. So here's hoping he can be a better than replacement level 5D who can help develop and shield a player like Livingstone.A healthy OEL would be a good player..imo..

Hopefully we won’t have to heavily rely on him with the addition of Hronek…and his play improves with the new D coaches and structure.I would buy that if he wasn't total dog shit the second half of the season before the world championship
He looked like the same player he has this season.
Yeah..I don’t think he’ll be traded or bought out this upcoming season..Again..I’d like to see him play healthy and playing within a more structured system.Well, he's untradeable and a buy-out is gross. If he is, and if we do sign Gavrikov and re-sign Bear, we could potentially have a PMD in each pairing and a defensive D in at least the top two pairings (not really sure about OEL's partner at this stage).

You can’t move forward with this giant unplayable cancerous turd still here.

Next thing you know OEL will be hiring a personal chef and rededicating himself to hockey.
Not a good one anywayI don't know if he'll be able to afford it with the 10.5 million he's making next year.

The work is done and the summer has begun. You cant see it here but the gleam is definitely thereOne might wonder if that gleam in his eye is because summer came early for him this year.
