It doesn’t look too bad for the playoffs, but feel like we still need a more reliable RHD veteran that can step up in a pinch. Erik Johnson retained would be a prudent move.

We played something like 11 different defensemen in 2011. With your listed D, thats 8. Add Wolanin is 9. Another playable veteran would make it 10 - and ideally we don’t need to play someone like Irwin but he’s there
We should see what this guy is up to

Sean Walker makes way too much sense, let's go. Right-side guy, cap hit is in line. I will also accept Seeler or Lyubushkin, but would prefer more two-way.

How does that make sense? The Flyers are in a playoff spot, 4 points up on 9th. Why are they selling?

They won't retain all these UFAs, he's on pretty much every industry trade list I've seen, and it was recently reported at The Fourth Period they're taking calls on him and Seeler.

Briere has said he's still committed to the rebuild and will trade.

I believe there have been reports from Flyers media that he wants around 5M/year on his next contract, so the Flyers are looking to get a 1st for him.

Yeah, in similar reports it sounds like a lot of these teams are waiting on the Tanev trade to set the market on rentals.

Interesting. Still would be a bit surprising but we shall see.

I would love it if Myers was moved for some kind of return, but I have lost hope in that. It seems like he is loved in the room and is still valued on the ice. Unless they have a replacement RD in place on a deal I can't see them moving him, and even if they did it would be a ballsy move that could upset the team's morale.
Allvin and JR don't care about love.

Has anyone compiled a list of gritty sandpaper bottom 6ers who like to play on the edge and might be attainable? This is something I’d love to see.

Friedman says they'll shop Walker but want to re-sign Seeler. Walker will be pricey to acquire, I bet teams who miss out on Tanev will pivot to him even though they're different players, mainly because he's a RHD who can be that #4/#5 guy.

I don't blame them, I like Seeler a lot, maybe better than Zadorov. And he'll be a lot more affordable than Walker.

Bring in Kuraly, Tanev, and Stecher and go for it

Suter-Miller-Boeser
Pettersson-Lindholm-Mikheyev
Garland-Blueger-Joshua
Hoglander-Kuraly-Lafferty

Don't think there's any other team in the league that could match that forward depth line for line.

To add:

Maroon - 16 team NTC
Kuraly - 10 team NTC

Actually surprised that Clutterbuck doesn't have any trade protection as I could have sworn I laughed at the islanders for giving it out to him or martin etc.

-Canucks left the Tanev talks feeling like the Flames think they can get a 1st round pick for him
-still going to poke around on Tanev; if they don't get him in a trade they will try again on July 1st
-Canucks love him; excellent reputation around the league
-Canucks will be high on Tanev's list in the summer; stiffest competition will come from the Maple Leafs because noone loves him more than Trieliving
-team is happy they didn't have to give up Lekkerimaki, Willander, or anyone in Abbotsford
-Flames liked Hunter B in his draft year
-Canucks were talking with his agent about signing but weren't close before January; would not have been an issue signing him
-at the end of the day, even Milstein knew it was time to move on
-Milstein fought very hard to keep Kuzmenko in Vancouver
-when the Canucks acquired Zadorov, both sides talked about getting an extension done; Milstein said yesterday that they will try and get it done after the season
-Kuzmenko trade did not effect Milstein's relationship with the Canucks
-Milstein has a very good player coming out of Russia this spring and the Canucks are one of the teams interested in that player
-there was something there with the Zadorov rumours; everyone has denied them
-ties the Zadorov rumours into with the Canucks adding Tanev
-Zadorov wants term
-Canucks dealing with UFAs until after the season

Wanted someone of Monahan / Henrique calibre (doesn't have to be them specifically, just that level of player) thinking they'd go for a 2nd + another piece but if a 1st is the asking price, we'll have to aim lower methinks.

Trenin is the guy from that list that really interests me. Should come at a pretty low cost like a Karlsson.

Pick up Maroon and/or Trenin
Pick up an Erik Johnson with retention

Addresses the sandpaper and a veteran D who has won before and can move up in a pinch.

Joshua Lafferty Maroon
Zadorov Myers

That’s a lot of big bodies willing to drop them.

I think we’re looking solid. One question mark is still Mikheyev sitting in our top 6, but no team is perfect.

I wonder if teams like the Isles, Preds, Blues and Coyotes avoid selling off as they are still in the fight for a WC spot. Might come right down to the deadline for some of those teams to decide.

Minnesota is definitely out enough to be a seller. Maroon would tick a lot of boxes the Canucks have been coveting for a bit.
