Connor Murphy should our RHD target. Size, blocks shots and can play good D.

Ship out Mik and a pick or Podz

If not him then Lyubushkin is the other.

Through the first 14GP he's averaged 16:47 TOI - 13:47 ES - 2:58 PK
Exactly to his identity ... he has been credited with 22 hits and 35 shot blocks.

He has an extensive injury and concussion history. I would be hesitant.

If Buffalo is stupid, Samuelsson would be the ideal target.

Samuelsson also has an extensive injury history, worse than Murphy’s since 2020.

Would be a nice target though but yeah highly unlikely Buffalo moves him. They want more guys like him

True but I understand Samuelsson’s to be more random injuries like Tanev. He’s also a lot younger than Murphy and is on a fantastic contract.

2 of Bluger, Lafferty and Dakota need to be gone and replaced with $1m players and one of MiK/Garland needs to go. The defense needs more high quality players and I think we sign Tanev.

Ideally, they don't. Losing Blueger and Joshua would be far too significantly for our future depth. We don't have anyone to replace them and we shouldn't just gift prospects a spot and hope they figure it out. That's what led to both Hoglander and Podkolzin sputtering out and going back for a year.

I don't think either Mikehyov or Garland get traded either. We shouldn't Garland whatsoever, and Tocchet seems to really like Mik. Not to mention, he isn't exactly going to be sought after.

Your amounts for Lafferty, Joshua, Blueger are all way too low imo.

I don't see Joshua or Blueger getting over 3M, which we can afford. Lafferty has been a journey man who may value term than dollar amount. Granted, he's also the most expendable. Anything close to 2M and we let them go.

I think the team will only go bargain shopping now.

Kovecevic(sp?) on the Habs is really interesting, good size, seems like a decent depth dman and signed very cheap through next season.

If Minny sells I’d be interested in Duhaime. Tocchet would love him.

I’d assume Yakov Trenin will be too pricey to acquire as well but he’s another guy Tocchet would love.

Justin Danforth from Columbus would be a nice sneaky pickup if available.

Lyubushkin is appealing to me

Erik Johnson maybe

Not going to pay a 1st for Tanev. I love Tanev and want him back but the wheels are rusting this year.

I'm liking our defense right now, Cole needs breaks, Juulsen has been a drastic turnaround, I like Friedman. A top 4 shutdown D would be a luxurious addition, looking at who we're competing against not many have an extra piece like that.

I don't think we really NEED to make anymore trades. Our line up is fairly deep and balanced now, no glaring holes, any more tinkering might hurt whatever chemistry we currently have. Spare depth guy that doesn't play unless for injury, sure. I wouldn't want Allvin to make more big trade(s) just for the sake (ie: Tanev, Henrique, Vatrano, etc).

I've mentioned Kovacevic before too. He's got decent results playing a 2nd pair role now. Signed for next season at a cheap hit is crucial.

I think you keep Garland as he is the straw that stirs the drink and you surround him with players in the mold of Bluegar and Joshua who will, sadly, price themselves off the team.

But if we're going to pay for one or Bluegar or Joshua, I think you have to go with Joshua. Much rarer combination of size, skill, tenacity and PK utility. Maybe a longer term lower AAV contract would entice him? Something like 5x2.5? In all likelihood we lose him though.

Depth defenseman and a 4C would be the small moves I’d make now. Would like to get a veteran 4C, maybe like a Sean Kuraly and push Aman to a depth piece.

Rather have a Bjugstad.

FO, size. PK and a decent scoring clip this year.
