Phew... good thing we had noted tough guy Canadian Gudbranson. Where would we be without his yelling in hallways?
I dunno, none? Cause no one cares about a silver medal or a single tournament MVP.
Here's a more useful question: How many have gotten into the hall with only a single Vezina, 0 cups, 0 SCF appearances, and only 2 trips further than the 1st round?
But good luck with that single Olympic silver, maybe that'll get him a vote or two.
But he performed on par with or worse than a guy 5 mil cheaper!!!!!!
And he defended a little guy! That's got to count for something

Lack had a nice stretch of games when the team buckled down defensively and played a lot more tight than earlier in the season. Personally i would have taken the younger cheaper player but Benning wins this one hands down. Lack has been garbage since he left and would have made the net a disaster. Not better now not better later.
Miller is mildly overpaid but the decision to bring him in had sound logic and has worked out. You can't just insert your rebuild agenda into the argument. Goaltending has been one of the best parts of this team for 3 seasons now. Having Miller has allowed Lack and now Markstrom to be sheltered enough to maximize their development without getting torched game after game.
its kinda funny reading the same people going on about Hamhuis sheltering Hutton seeing no value in what Miller has done for the net.

I changed my mind on the "mentoring" when Miller faced the Oilers (when they were even crappier than they are now - eg., sans McDavid) ALL the time instead of Lack - which wasn't THAT much different the rest of the scheduling that season.
Mentoring isn't having Markstrom stapled to the bench - only getting meaningful starts when Miller got injured (much like what happened the season before).
