When the Sedins come to a standstill maybe Aquilini will allow some change. How much weight do these players carry in the boardroom? They are able to veto coaching decisions? Is Aquilini helpless to stop this reign of error?
If Aquilini wants to succeed or just avoid being a joke, he has to gas WD. Then the incoming coach must be empowered to run the team as he sees fit. This would be better if it were a coach and GM situation but Benning remain? I cite as evidence the numerous bodies in the Sedin closet. Gillis, Vigneault, Tortorella and Desjardins have dared suggest Sedin remedies. Sedins are still here and are still the top line. Unless a new coach can tell them what to do it's pointless.
I'd try splitting them up. If they won't split, they sit. While they sit, I would relay offers to them. It might be enlightening for them to hear where they are in the marketplace. If they remain united, I put one of them in to cover an injury on the wing. I'd offer it to Henrik first, as Captain. If he won't play wing, I activate Daniel. If he refuses he is in breach of contract and I sue him.
