Here comes the Lu supporter on team 1040. Luongo was the soul of this team. IT's right too. Him and kes are the soul of this team.

Oh, now he's trashing the rest of the team (not tanev).

The one hurdle to tanking that worries me is Aquilini. He is so focused on getting short term playoff revenue that he might sell our young players off for a quick fix. He needs to know that Canucks fans have no problem with a rebuild at this point. Your point about teams who haven't succeeded after tanking is true, but what other way is there? Free agency doesn't equal championships. Drafting low and getting top prospects has proven to be successful.

Yeah at least this year its obvious the ship has sank. Guess we will see what goaltender they get via UFA and we will know rather the tank for McDavid is on or not.

We are not going to be the Oilers any time soon.

Fire Tortorella, buy out Booth, trade Kesler and Edler for some young players, spend the cap space wisely, and we're a playoff team easily.

With tonights result, playoffs are all but officially over. The team can't recover from this game, this year.

You are right about the off season though. I can see Aqualini pushing for a big UFA like Vanek or Moulson, in hopes of playoffs.

If Aqualini has any sense, he'll understand that there is widespread appetite in Vancouver for a full rebuild. Take advantage of it and do it. People will respond if you move out the Vets and bring in young players. Signing a Vanek will do nothing to spark interest in the team. Be smart Frank.

so he was good at one thing, an he can't even do that any more? what is he achieving?

Im saying even he is struggling and failing to coach team defense to this team and i think our problems go beyond just coaching...But you can look at it how you want.

we have scored 3 or more goals 5 times since the new year... and lost 4 of those games, so even when we are scoring goals, we are STILL losing.

When the team is scoring more goals, they are so surprised that they start relaxing and get destroyed.

The people who call in are always complete morons.

Luongo was the soul of this team for the first few years he was here, but then the Sedins took that roll.

Unlike 6 weeks ago, at least now I can voice my opinion about this team and no longer be called "Mr. doom and gloom".

The Canucks are the 29th ranked team offensively and just blew a 3 goal, 3rd period lead against a dreadful team without their superstar centreman in the lineup. If you're the coach of a club that can't score, or protect leads, you're going to be looking for work pretty soon. Wouldn't be surprised if Tortoella is fired after this loss.

Hey fans, how about those pricy season ticket renewals? After all, Matthias is 6'4. :)

On a serious note, I think the **** hit the fan once Santorelli got injured, no?

To me, he was the heart of the team this season, and once he was gone, the team went off the rails.

Left to soccer practice with us up 3-0 after 2.

Turned on the TEAM 1040 on the drive home only to hear Torts say:

"This was a kick to the teeth..."

Me simply asking:

HOW..HOW?!?!?!

That's depressing, if true.

His work ethic was pretty huge. But that's more coincidence than causation.

i look at it like this: tortorella is the denim coat and jeans, and the team is the brown belt with black shoes. both are fashion crimes, but jesus, double denim, really? you gotta take that **** off before you nitpick over your accessories.

well, him and Kesler were carrying the team offensively in December. once he went down Kesler had nobody to play with and the wheels came off.

So downgrade at 2nd line centre and on defense and voila, a playoff team? That sure sounds easy.

Just unload the teams 3rd best offensive forward and arguably the best offensive defenseman and this 29th ranked offense inmproves dramatically and gets back into the playoffs?

I need to hear more about this plan of yours...
