LMAO at that Torts statement about Booth.

If Booth is your best forward, the rest of your team is pure ****

It's obvious Booth is just dead weight on this team, I wonder who else is..maybe Torts will put out their name's in post game loses

I have 10 bucks its gonna be Burrows next

Yeah because you can just up and change a whole core.

Lord love us...

Not overnight, but Gillis has done absolutely nothing to change the core. In fact, he's tied us down to two more members of the core long-term. He's made zero moves to change this core.

We're on pace for our worst season in 5 years, I'm not sure we can dub it the "right" thing to do.

Can't change a whole core overnight like you can with a coaching staff. It was the right thing to do to spark a reset - he just didn't follow up on it.

Not really. It's the truth.

Not the kind of truth that is necessary from a coach. Absolutely unacceptable comment made towards one of the few guys that actually busted his hump for the coaching staff tonight.

Perhaps Torts should take a minute to reflect why the team actually looked worse with him behind the bench than with Sully, a guy who was clearly in over his head as a head coach.

Bolstering Booth's trade value. If he plays ever game on the Sedin line and getting praise from now to trade deadline, his value will multiply tenfold!

Quick, anybody... what's 10 x 0 ?

 First overall would be ours if Sully coached all year.

It's harsh, but I don't mind it at all.

This entire country club of an organization badly needs a kick in the pants. Torts represents something to that effect.

They're predictable. Set up Garrison/Edler for one timers. How creative.

You know what though? If they actually did that well it wouldn't be such a bad thing, but they don't do it well because every play comes from the perimeter with everyone standing still. There are no shooting lanes because the penalty killers know it's the only play we have.

Also, the PGT title is a big insult to Eddie Lack. ;) We have a great goalie on our hands here...

Make my day.
If we blow the team up as some want, we might as well keep Booth and Burrows just because we'll need the cap.

you know what? get bent, john tortorella. you shame the club with an embarassing display - that rightly warranted suspension from the league - and then the very day you get back you heap crap on the players and the management who have been fighting through the most extensive string of injuries in recent memory. your job is to motivate, not to degrade and lay blame on everyone but yourself.

you think the squad's not good enough? well guess what, mate, this team's actually average in the league and there are a dozen squads around with even more paltry make-ups. you aren't going to magic a pile of finesse players into a cap-scraping team just by acting pouty at joey kenward. take some frigging responsibility, generate some respect for the people you work with every day and for god's sake take a red-hot look at yourself again, because apparently 15 days wasn't enough.

I don't think anyone thought coaching was the #1 problem or that making a coaching change would magically turn everything around. It was clear that a change needed to be made and it's 100 times easier to change coaches than to overhaul the roster, especially when most of the value on your roster is bound by no-trade clauses. The coaching change had a possibility of being able to improve things; so far it appears that it hasn't.

According to some, it was the sole problem - that is the initial comment I have contested.

It was clear a change needed to be made, but it was never a fix all. That's like saying AV was so bad that he shackled a definite contender from contending. No one believed that, let alone it being popular opinion.

I do agree that its easier to make that change.

Torts is frustrated telling like it is. Changing the complexsion of the team. Team loses the next 3 games... Spells the end of the core era. Reminds me of the keenan days.

Changing the coaching staff. Especially now, in hindsight, when we're doing worse with Tortorella than we did under a half decade of AV.

Ahhhh, hindsight. I would've bet anything we're scratching and clawing to make the playoffs under AV had he stayed another year. What we saw under AV towards the end of last year, and even well before that isn't much better than what we're seeing now. If we get a couple goals here and there this season, Torts ain't looking so bad.

And again, thank you so much for that. I wasn't sure because you made it seem that pre-game interviews were not to be discussed in the post game thread.

You brought up the fact that Torts didn't take any responsibility for the teams play in his post game comments. I pointed out that Torts did exactly that right before the game, which would probably make repeating himself in the post game a bit redundant.

I love this country.

Before the game, did Tortarella degrade his own coaching skill and the teams like he did to Booth? Was he a sarcastic ***** about himself too?
