I don't see what's appealing about this for Arizona. They're a rebuilding team, what use do they have for an underperforming, overpaid winger on a short term contract?
I’m not confident he is overpaid. He is very clearly a second liner, and first liners are making $8m plus. I also don’t think chychrun has all that much value in the same way Boeser doesn’t it’s not so much about talent, it’s much more about being healthy enough to contribute.

Boeser for Lucic straight up would be a fantastic outcome for Vancouver to get you out of that bad contract 2 years early and no assets surrendered or retention on the AAV.

It’s a get out of cap jail two years early card.

At this stage, you know this season is a wasted one for Vancouver. That team is going no where. But a lottery pick in 2023 is a nice chance to add a killer young player. Seems the right year and time for Vancouver to make this type of exchange.
Agreed. I think they win the trade even with us getting the 2nd. We badly need a RHS on the 2nd PP unit though and the Flames have the defensive forwards to shelter him with 80% Ozone starts.

Wasnt he just in a 7/9 game point streak? Why is his valué so low atm? Only 3 years on his contract. That’s not bad even if he does preform bad

It’s not about being sad or happy. $6.65mm is just way too much for this guy. He’s not a player befitting that contract and term.

If Vancouver retains $2mm, I think he’d be trade worthy for sure. He’s decent value at $4.65mm per. Then you can look past the back injury and other ailments. The defensive lapses. He gets points. He’s just a limited player you have to deploy in an offense to six role with PP time.

He’s got no bottom six skills or PK attributes.

I hope he gets his chance of scenery deal. If I were the wild, I’d offer Dumba for Boeser and Vancouvers 2nd rounder in 2023.

Risky deal for the Wild but that pick conveys in the late 30s is my guess. P
So just to clarify.

Boeser + a 2nd & 2+ million retained for an expiring Dumba who has been rumoured to be as ineffective as Boeser only from the blue line?

This still doesn't explain why it would be a good fit for Arizona.

No retention. I’m looking for Vancouver deals where Vancouver doesn’t retain. I don’t think Vancouver will want to retain. Which means they’ll get nothing of value for Boeser unless they attach something.

Your being intellectually dishonest, he was not in fact scratched, he did play. He came close, like someone who almost crashed a car, did you or did you not. Yes those details matter, that it almost happens matters, but it didnt happen at that is the factual result. As for this benching nonsense, he has not been benched or scratched. Has be maybe missed a few shifts because the coach wants his to pick it up, sure. Almost velvety NHLer has had a coach try and get them going at some point, so it means nothing.

The attempt to convince us with a flimsy argument that your narrative holds water, while calling out others is suspect. Perhaps we can deal in facts, like his production rate which is that of a solid second liner, that he is a good team mate, that he can score at the NHL level consistently.. does his game have warts, sure. I don’t see Wayne Gretzky’s name on the Selke Trophy but it doesn’t mean he isn’t the great one.

you know what .. if i almost crashed a car .. i definitely if under different circumstances i would have crashed the car .. then i almost crashed the car .. lol ... its like he was scratched but different circumstances (player got injured and the team was short a guy) .. hence almost scratched lol

Gotcha.

I don't see this as so. The idea of having to actually pay to get rid of a productive player regarldess of his current lack of drive is anathema to my way of thinking. While the canucks brass have a history of doing so; I don't think boeser will need to be given a tid bit for a team to take him on and most likely would be a tdl or off season move.

Players with far more questionable contracts or production move every year, and every year we don't see it coming. GMs can not control themselves.

Because it allows them to get a similar return to what they are losing. A mid twenties player that’s middle of the line up and has upside. Clearly they don’t have people beating down the door looking to pay whatever the Yotes are asking. It’s a risk for a risk with similar upside.

Don’t expect a big haul for him. In fact, unless he really pops off, good luck trading him.

I suppose Montreal might be interested in taking Boeser and a first round pick in 2024 or 2025 for future considerations after they trade Monahan :)

Said his new deal is a risk due to what he has become. Some Canucks fans agreeing from the start. Having a streak like he has is a mirage.
This guy broke in to the league as a shooter. Now it's looking like he's done as one. He isn't anything special at anything else, but requires top-6 as he can't play bottom-6.
Imagine if Canucks had offered him 8 years...

LOL......................Nucks fans are gonna love this one....throw in Mete and an AHL goalie, just for fun. I mean how could the Nucks refuse...

Each of those contracts expire this season. Boeser with zero retention isn't worth more then a 2nd.
