There were a couple of angry ones way back in the GDT.

The tying goal was definitely a bad one.

First one may have been? I'm gonna have to go back and watch everything again, but the fourth definitely was. First one looked to leak through his arm, but also from fairly close range.

I didn't think that second one was that bad. I think that could be written off as a screen? There were bodies right in front of him until the shot came through.
Yeah, I wouldn’t have pinned the game on him cause he’s been solid, but he wasn’t at his best tonight. He has earned it though.

Shesterkin is better than Sorokin by a hair imo. Rangers leave Shesterkin out to dry way more than the Islanders do with Sorokin. It's like Hasek v Brodeur which I'm not sure is a winning battle here, lol.
One could argue Sorokin gets less goal support though. An argument that I never hear about Marty is that, even though he played in front of good defenses in the Devils’ best days, he didn’t necessarily get the most/a lot of goal support, so his margin for error was thin. He had to be on constantly. I think it’s a pretty good argument.

Hockey is a funny sport. We were outplaying teams in December but losing and now lately we're not playing as well but finding a way to get points. I'm not going to complain about a win but blowing a 3 goal lead at home to a bad team is not good. Thankfully the unstoppable OT PP came through again.

Thought Vancouver was hungry after it was 4-1. New coach and all. Still never doubted the devils would at least get a point.

Not Dougie’s best night. Funny thing is that even though this was far from Dougie’s best game, he got 3 assists lol.

13 goals, 36 assists, 49 points in 50 games so far. Very good season for him. His defense isn’t his best trait, but he’s still a net positive on the ice.

Makes me think in that case, getting Reimer in a Timo trade would also be super helpful too. Don't want to run Vanecek into the ground before round 1 which is most likely going to be those f***s across the river with the best goalie in the world.
I would accept Reimer in a trade with Timo, but I'm no longer interested in just acquiring him just for him.

He's stunk for months now.

Hard to tell if this is just usual act of not really having consecutive good seasons or if he's just cooked or if he just wants the hell out of that mess.

He could come here and play 6 or 8 games and do well or he could also wind up doing worse than Blackwood with those games.

That's kind of been the story of his career though. He doesn't have many years where he follows up a solid season with another solid season.

He's like the epitome of an every other year goalie. He had 3 consecutive solid to good seasons in 15-16, 16-17 and 17-18, but literally all his years before that and all of his years after that have been every other year he fluctuates from a + to a - and now he's about to turn 35 years old.

It's beyond absurd they aren't selling Nirmal sized Hat Hats in the Devil's Den
I agree. The only reason I can think of for why they don’t , is that they don’t ,is that it might be seen as somewhat disrespectful to the designer(s) of the Jersey jersey? Or maybe goes against licensing agreements or ??? It’s kinda too late now.May as well run with it and make some $$ while they are at it .

Are we concerned that we have been playing like crap the last month (but still winning ).
Or is it just a combination of them getting a little tired , Marino out injured ?
I am going to convince myself that tonight’s game was just rust after over a week off.

Nah, they're winning games. If anything, that should be more impressive because they'll able to win games without looking their best. The switch will flip here soon again to where they become dominant especially after the trade we've all been dying for happens.

I think a lot of it was rust, if not for the fact that most of the lines looked bad tonight. Everybody was getting pinned in by Pettersson and Kuzmenko.

It felt like every line looked like the 4th line and all D pairings looked like Helgeson-Warsofsky. I’m exaggerating a bit on the Helgeson-Warsofsky thing.

I think I'd chalk it up to rust off it wasn't the same shit we've been seeing for a month. Inability to win board battles, unable to pass the puck, alot of throwing it across and praying, losing checks.

VV couldn't keep a lid on it, and if that was mb29 blowing a 3 goal lead with those goals he gave up, this place would've been a shitshow.

I'm thinking a fully healthy up to speed Marino paired with Graves will really help.

i love that comment that he spent the last month yelling at the TV. He knows we haven't been playing well and hated it.
