It's fine, I don't mind it. He made some huge saves tonight too, it's just the unforgiving nature of the position. I'm sure he'd say it himself that he was off tonight and would have to be better versus Seattle. Also I know you're not his biggest fan but maybe giving Blackwood more games eventually to help Vanecek round 1 is the move. I just don't know when Ruff would decide to give up on the division if Carolina just keeps mangling teams.
Agree with everything other than more Blackwood.

Blackwood isn't an auto loss, but he's certainly a coin flip at best, while Vitek is almost an auto win (and there's some luck involved, for sure) these days.

I don't see any need to start Blackwood more than maybe 8-10 more times this season. 10 times in 32 remaning games? There's no need for more than that.

Makes me think in that case, getting Reimer in a Timo trade would also be super helpful too. Don't want to run Vanecek into the ground before round 1 which is most likely going to be those f***s across the river with the best goalie in the world.

The rangers traded for sorokin?

Also, Jack on pace for 57-53-110

Shesterkin is better than Sorokin by a hair imo. Rangers leave Shesterkin out to dry way more than the Islanders do with Sorokin. It's like Hasek v Brodeur which I'm not sure is a winning battle here, lol.

Canucks had success flipping pucks past their own blue line, dumping in rather than skating in, and being ultra aggressive on the forecheck.

This is becoming a pretty consistent recipe to cause the Devils problems and I’m not seeing any adjustments to counteract teams that take this approach.

Defensively, the Canucks stacked the blue line and dared the Devils to not dump it…and the Devils didn’t dump it, turning it over, and struggled even when they did dump it. I bet the Devils see more of this approach going forward but I think the Devils can skate through it on their better days.

Way too many 50/50 games that we’ve been fortunate to be on the winning side of, and many of them in 3v3 OT no less. That isn’t a sustainable formula for winning over the long haul. I really like this team, but it’s been like a month+ that they’ve been sort of stealing these wins on just talent and a bit of luck. They still too often play an extremely immature game. Lots to learn for this young group still. I’m hoping it happens before the playoffs, because they will get eaten up like Swiss cheese playing like this against other playoff caliber teams when it’s all on the line.

The Hischier line did it a ton and they were the best line. Hughes's line didn't and they got caved for the most part but Jack still somehow scored 5v5 and put a few good shifts.

He's going to be a very useful guy. I think he's the type that will be able to play in the bottom six or be the third guy on a top line and you wouldn't be overly worried in either situation.

If SJ's scouts were paying attention, that's the roster player I'd want over Sharangovich in a Meier trade. Let's hope they were stuffing their faces with chicken tenders and ice cream in the suite.
