Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to @wonton15 for this Post earlier today

The best thing to come out of being an embarrassment to the league and chaotic management is how fun and funny this board has become. I enjoy shitposting and shitreading much more than the games itself.

It was a good reminder for me that we are a little community here who not only support the Team when they do well, but each other when they struggle. I stepped back due to the BB - Management fiasco & apologize for my absence.

I acknowledge the support might be group commiseration, and we may not all have the same opinions. However, I appreciate the hockey fellowship and plan to be more present in order to do my small part.

I’m going to look at this Board in a therapeutic manner, as we need a place to share our collective frustration & look for small slivers of hope where we can find them.

Thanks again for helping me shift my perspective @wonton15

and of course some memes to keep the mood light…

Kind of off topic but does anyone else find it annoying that Drance always has to bring up when he is right but when he is wrong you dont hear a peep out of him

These are the same fans that lost their shit and got Gillis fired because of two trades that were maybe the biggest wins for the franchise in the last decade.

And then licked Benning‘s balls for 8 years.

The fans of this team are very stupid.
Little harsh MS, most fans arent as crazy and fanatic as you and i and others here. Maybe its not their life and can get caught up and influenced by narratives

They’re just slow on the uptake. This should have been the reaction around year 5 of the Benning regime. It’s cumulative and the result of a decade+ of organizational malfeasance. Some of them are just now realizing how badly they’ve been hoodwinked.

This shit again huh.
I mean I haven’t seen the media like this even after we lost Tanev, Marky and Toffoli foe nothing. This was before the whole BB thing. Like screaming why are they not rebuilding, like give me a f***ing break, you guys didn’t scream why not rebuild the 8 year Benning was here and 1st year in and you screaming rebuild?

Keep drinking the kool aid. There is room for you on canucks forum

I've been consistently critical of this organization for like 7 or 8 years. I wish I could say it was longer but I gave the previous management a couple years.

I've been extremely critical about this roster this year, the direction of the team. Critical of how JR handled the Bruce situation.

I've said that it's very likely Tocchet won't have success here because of a poor roster and because I don't know if he's a good coach.

But what I won't do is rip a coach for a gambling thing from decades ago that is a complete zero. And more than that, rip him because of some weird infatuation with a previous coach who deserved to be fired.

Make my day.
So his lifetime coaching record of .481 deserves a head coaching gig and a 3 year term ? Even if you set aside the 2 convictions

Brilliant management

You are assuming we could get a better coach to come to this cluster#### organisation. I have my doubts. It's not Tocchet's fault management and ownership are douchebags.

he deserves a chance to show what he's got now he's here. it is what it is.

People really struggle to understand the context in evaluating draft success.

So strongly influenced by how many high picks you make, and then if you have just a ridiculously high volume of later round picks because those are total shots in the dark.

Then you factor in what the development is like at lower levels and how quickly players can get themselves onto the roster.

All that shit influences eventual games played tallies which are posted way too frequently.

I liked that Gillis was accountable about the drafting process and results being bad.
Gillis' drafting was legitimately so much worse though. Like, it felt like an achievement if his draft picks were good enough to warrant a contract for crying out loud. At least Benning's prospects felt like prospects, even if they never reached their potential.

And we have seen this. Gillis didn’t play ball with the media and look what they incited.
f*** the media. They put their interest ahead of fan interest and ran the best GM out of town and supported an idiot for 8 years

What the absolute f*** are you raving on about.

Gillis should have traded more picks.

Real barnburner of a tilt there. I guess that's how it is in a league where a pet's death means taking time off work.
