Im not talking about that one goal, overall he just got outplayed by the goaltender on the other side of the net. The reason we lost. Doesn't matter how our D or forward played because they definitely outplayed Calgarys by some margin.

Yeah totally, Lu should have never squared up to Iginla in the corner, he should have given him the short side, just in case Iggy was playing for the bank off Garrison's shins.

So if he does nothing its his fault for standing there chewing his gum, but if he says something its also his fault? Ok.

As a coach, it's AV's responsibility to have the pulse of the refs. He rarely does. It just so happened that in this game, this one attribute cost his team the win.

AV isn't going anywhere while the season is still going. Unless we drop way out of a playoff spot...

Firing AV half-way through the season isn't the right move, IF we fire him, it's in the offseason.

Giving Bowness the job or bringing in another coach (even if it's Ruff) is not the right move, changing our style of play half-way through the season won't help us come playoff time.

I agree, AV needs to do a better job of getting the team going, but firing him when we're 3rd in the conference isn't right.

Not like were winning anything with him this year. Might as well hire someone that actually motivates our team

Bouwmeester saved the goal.

Yes, Bouwmeester blocked it, but he simply stuck his stick out and prayed.

It's up to Daniel, an elite goalscorer, to make sure he puts that in. He isn't some 4th line grinder who just shovels the puck towards the net.

Or it could just be that the refs don't like the Canucks and decided to take it out on AV. Plenty of coaches/players get to spazz on the refs all they want and there's no penalty.

I disagree completely. Not sure what you expect out of Luongo though. Should he have gone up and tried to score? Maybe assist Barker with his gap control? Maybe move Garrison so he doesn't deflect the puck into his own net? Maybe go on the bench so AV doesn't yap at the officials (not vilifying AV for this btw). What should he have done? :shakehead

Not get outplayed by an AHLer? :shakehead

AV will just buy him a ticket back to Europe.

He would probably use his airmiles :sarcasm:

Seriously though if we were to pull a Pittsburg and fire our coach mid stream who is available now as opposed to after the season for guys like Eakins and Cooper

i love how this organization has a grand total of 5 right handed defensemen in the entire system:
Kevin Bieksa, Chris Tanev, Frank Corrado, Patrick Mullen, and Jeremy Price.

None of our lefties look remotely comfortable on the right side. If they aren't going to use Ballard, might as well try to move him for a right handed guy.

It's been a clear issue for years and they even talk about it... Yet don't act on it.

luongo gave up a suspect 1st goal, but he is not the main reason we lost.

Our defense is a mess, and its such a mess that your transition game sucks, which affects your offense.

And its doesn't help that most of the offense, only comes from the twins consistently (I think I've typed this over a few years now).

1 line offense, many top 4 dmen but not 1 elite dman, and 2 # 1 goalies.

Thats not the best way to build a championship team, imo

Its time to fire A.V. the guys has been out coached numerous times, his hatred for Ballard is ridiculous, there's no way in hell guys like Andrew Alberts and Cam Barker should be ahead of Ballard on the depth chart. For the first time in a while this team is in trouble, they may even miss the playoffs this year. Lindy Ruff seems like the ideal guy to replace A.V. with ad I hope GMMG can realize that. This teams has the personal to win. it just doesn't have the coaching.

Well then it's a good thing he didn't get outplayed. I'm far more concerned about the way our defense gave up some golden chances tonight than our goaltending. One weak goal isn't the reason we lost. Keith Ballard should draw back into the lineup, and hopefully Alberts is the one sitting.
