I don't know how you can be a ref in that game and go home feeling like you did your job. This was one of the most blatant one sided games I've ever had the misfortune of watching. Too bad we're not in a certain country and this isn't a certain sport.

If they needed to win this game, they should have shown up better than scoring 1 goal through 54 minutes on ****ing Buffalo.

They didn't play this game like a must-win, hence the result.

The point is, so long as they felt like they were in the game, they couldn't afford to take liberties. You saw what happened with Malone for what was barely a penalty.

Not to mention it wasn't really a game they needed to win. With how the teams they're "chasing" are playing, the "must-win" games have already come and gone.

I can't say the remaining hope I have for Ryan Murphy gets any more dim than when I see him wilt like he did when the physical pace picked up. It makes me imagine how useless he would be in the postseason at this stage of his development. He plays like a guy that knows he's had too many concussions. Hard to blame him, but harder to watch him.

Jeff running hot out there like he's the ace of this franchise isn't he? In both good ways and bad. Curious if Eric's presence had some kind of impact on Skinner not showing that big baby side since it seems to be back in force. Though with it does seem to come that reckless and blatant lack of self-preservation style of play that always yields a lot of goals and points until he takes a few good pops in a game from being too cute. He's going to have to take this leadership thing a little more seriously than coughing it up like he did on the last goal.

Slavin continues to impress. It's the little things with this one. He doesn't do anything magical, he just wins pucks. I don't do the whole advanced stats deal but if they don't say he's bailing us out more often than not they're without credibility. He just flat out doesn't get beaten.

This was a must win after all the shenanigans started, and it definitely was a must win after they took a late lead. This screamed a game, gutless, ****** teams lose.

Did Kerry Fraser come back to ref tonight? Holy **** this kind of game was that helmet haired dweebs calling card.

Nah. Even as bad as Fraser was he wasn't this incompetent. These guys made the worst beer league refs that I've seen look competent and unbiased. The sooner ****ing L'Ecuyer is out of the league the better. Hope that ****er gets out to the parking lot and finds all 4 tires are flat. I hope his lottery numbers are the winning numbers for the wrong draw. I hope somebody tosses a raccoon and a marmot into the shower with him. I hope he gets pulled over on the way home and doesn't have proof of insurance or registration on him. I hope his cologne turns out to smell worse then that time the raccoon got in the copying machine.

He got beat like a rented mule by Crosby a couple games ago. But I agree that he has been very good defensively overall. He could end up being the next Glen Wesley for the franchise. He needs to work on his shot but it's all there defensively.

That misconduct to Skinner had Fraser written all over it. Player yapping at the ref and opponents. Strike one. Retaliatory slash from Skinner on borderline hit. Strike two. Skirmish happens immediately following. Strike three. I feel like I've watched half a dozen games Fraser officiated that followed that exact blue print. The Malone penalty too was a total Fraser call.

L'Ecuyer is truly awful though. He doesn't have the slightest clue what he's doing.

Well hell, you and I both know it doesn't count for him. :sarcasm:

Oh won't disagree with that too much. Though to me that always was more of a Mick Magoo type note then a Fraser. To me Fraser would never have let the game get out of hand like that in the first place, and Larsson would have been tossed as well under him.

You know you've spent time in WV when...

:sarcasm:

Also, I can't remember the last time I got this angry over a game. Got home, wife asked me how it went, and all I said was, "I don't want to talk about it."

Probably a good thing I wasn't at the game, I'm still ****ing pissed. Utter ****ing joke of a ref job, beginning with those "trips" that should have come with embellishment calls. Utter ****ing joke of a response from a ***** ****ing team. And **** that ******** about Skinner's baby stuff being back. The guy was getting run all night and had to defend himself every ****ing shift, I was impressed he held it together as well as he did. **** off.

Slavin tried to outmuscle a guy who maxes out the leg press machine with one leg. It was a mistake he will learn from. I'm happy with these new D-men. I just wish someone would teach them to shoot. Especially Hanifin who shoots as if the puck is made from lead.

No Mr. Magoo was just straight blind. Fraser was actively seeking guys to **** with. He might have given Skinner a misconduct the shift before when 4 guys punched him and he did nothing.

Yep, tonight was the night I gave up on Ryan Murphy. He's flat-out too soft for this league. There's playing a positional, nonphysical game... and there's being soft. He is just soft. Like Jamie McBain level shy of contact.

He was never the same after that Tom Kuhnhackl hit in Junior. I truly think our scouting was right about him at the time of the pick. If you watch his draft year highlights you won't even recognize him. The fact that he's so scared of contact makes him so damn hard to watch. It's like somebody put a baby deer out there on skates.

**** that game. Refs were awful, completely one sided. Sabres goon it up the whole game and our guys get punished. Also, Sabres fans may be in slightly smaller numbers now, but that hasn't tamed them. My section was full of them, and they were still a bunch of ****ing *******s. I guess three years of being complete **** hasn't humbled them any.

Yeah, until Carolina wins their fan base back, we'll be stuck with these displaced plagues.
