Setting aside the shootout result, that’s a really strong way to win on the road. Tampa’s still a good team, and got a great game from their goalie. Canes were on the verge of falling apart mentally but pulled it back together and clawed back. It was a shooting gallery in the Lightning end, most of the time that’s a regulation win.

True but next time they should set a goal for 80 SoG. 60 isn't gonna get it done in regulation.

We'll be trading for a 2nd line center by the deadline. I want to give Kotkaniemi time but he just isn't showing anything. He's a bottom 6 forward at best right now.
I really think the answer is moving Necas to C and JK down to 3rd line when Patches comes in.

Patches - Aho - Turbo
Svech - Necas - Jarvis
Stastny - Kotkaniemi - Kase/Noesen
Martinook - Staal - Fast

Probably a more likely scenario. After all cap room to add a stud 2nd line center won't exactly be easy to come by.

But Necas has been dynamite on the wing, not sure if we want to mess with that.

So, just got home apparently as we finished up here, missed the game though. Looks like we outshot them by a ridiculous 57-26...did we dominate them that much and just get Vasi'd? Or was this yet another Bill Peto special of frustrating crappy shots and missed opportunities?

56 shots is just nuts. Vasi is literally one of only two goalies in the league that this team can put that up on and it not be an absolute clown pounding of a game

He also the only goalie in the NHL that is genuinely worth every single penny of $9.5M a year. I'm glad that the Canes got their two points, but Vasi very nearly stole that game.

Didn’t feel like we got goalied as much since we fell behind on two separate occasions but buckled down and found the tying goal both times. Vasi really did have a good game.
