Possibilities:
1) Wallmark and Zykov are more important to the Checkers and they are in a playoff hunt?

2) The guys they called up will likely get 4th line duties so why call up Wallmark or Zykov to get a handful of minutes a night when they can get lots of minutes in Charlotte?

How about call at least one of them (for example Wallmark) and give him plenty of ice time at NHL level. I think it would help him a lot if we want to see him up next year, it`s different level, and has no experience at NHL yet, so why not try him now, and think ahead?

There`s plenty guys at Checkers who can play without one of those two. Nesty + Wallmark would be better in my eyes.

After NHL season is over Wallmark can join Checkers again.

Seems reasonable to me. Not to mention their contracts are up after this year I believe, so maybe they just want to see if Brown's worth another two way deal or Nesty is worth retaining at the NHL level after a rough start..

There will probably be other chances. Doubt they'll be forcing many injured or even dinged up players to play as the year wears on.

Problem is, the Checkers may not be in the playoffs after the Canes season is over so they need those guys. Plus, like AA said, the other guys have expiring contracts.

I don't think getting a couple of meaningless games at the end of a season will have any bearing on what happens to Wallmark and Zykov down the road.

Down the road it may not make too much difference, but I really think if we gave Wallmark like 5-10 games at NHL level, to see how everything happens and how teams play here, would benefit a lot for him next season, because he would know what to expect. I understand Checkers situation, but I feel strongly about giving at least some experience for younger players in situation like ours. Look at Aho- he didn`t feel comfortable in the start of the year, because he had to adapt to NHL level, after like 10-15 games you could see improvment.
Another good example is Leafs last year, when they called up so many rookies, like Nylander, Hyman and others. I am sure experience at NHL level helped them to get ready for this season, and you can see results by them.

As somebody who grew up in the 90s, there is no shame in watching disney musicals for any reason. Even the ones that are not from the 90s. They are major cultural touchstones for my generation, and need no justification.
