“You’re going to make it after all.” :sarcasm:

For the record my friend. I will continue to beat the Michkov drum until someone from this organisation or external factors can convince me otherwise. Until that happens he is unequivocally the right choice in my mind.

I'm not even sure I'll ever be satisfied until he arrives in the NHL. Their reason for them passing will have to make damn good sense. That said, Hughes is a very bright man, and I trust his judgement. If anyone could conceivably convince me, it would be him.

Jeez, sounds like an ode to the Messiah. :amazed:

Were you a missionary in a past life?

Oh, I’ve heard your Michkov drum. It’s playing in stereo when I read that other draft thread and you are praying at his altar. Call it the power of Daily Affirmation.

I’d hate to see what happens if your guy should ever end up with another team. o_O

I'll have no problem if it's one of the teams ahead of us in the draft. It's only if we pass.

And yes I strongly believe in the talent that is Michkov. So much so that even if I'm ultimately wrong, I will have followed my instinct.

This is all to say without knowing everything they may know.

The Quebecer is projected to be selected between 20th and 35th in the draft. However, he expresses a strong conviction about his selection by the Montreal Canadiens if he is still available when general manager Kent Hughes announces the 31st choice.

“The CH really like my intense style of play. I'm still confident of being called by Montreal if I'm still available. - Ethan Gauthier

Are there many examples of players who had never seen a north-american sized rink and became stars when they crossed the pond only in their prime? Real question, not trying to make a point…
Besides Kaprizov?

It is quite rare that a star-talent player doesn't cross the pond until his prime. Therefore, I don't believe their historical success rate is very informative, as the sample is just too small.

Basing my scouting report entirely on his dad's appearances on l'Antichambre, I'm convinced he's a bust.

Yup I don't get that reasoning either but here's the thing. It seems it's always only not worth the risk for the Habs to take Michkov but it's absolutely fine for other teams to take the risk because of the timeline of their rebuilds. :dunno:

I mean the Habs are only entering year 2 of their rebuild really so it isn't like they're that much further ahead of most of the other teams drafting in the top 7 here.

I was listening to TSN690 earlier today and they had Anthony Di Marco in studio and the Michkov risk factor was the topic on there as well today. For them it was pretty much the risk isn't worth it for the Habs to draft Michkov due to the long wait but it would be absolutely fine if Arizona or the Flyers drafted him. Just frustrating to listen to at this point.
You say that the Habs are only entering year 2 of their rebuild but it's false if you consider that there was already a "re-tool " started 2-3 seasons prior to the Hugues era. Suzuki for one was acquired for Maxpac and Bergevin went to add more draft selections ( even if they weren't first round ). There are good prospects coming in addition of the ones we saw last season. So it isn't the kind of situation where the team needed a complete fire sale as the Hawks or Coyotes just did

damn, that's impressive, didn't know he was that skilled. I am a big Smith fan so maybe I focused too much on him although I really like Moore as well. Smith is the only player I badly want us to get that maybe could be there at 5 under the jackets go with him over Carlsson but Leonard I could certainly be in favor of and or trading up from 31 to get Moore if he fell more then I expect say into the late teens or early 20's.

You can beat the drums as much as you want, but neither you ,or one of us, is in a position to make your dream happening. Then, the question is why are you repeating the same song everyday / hour considering it won't change anything at all ? ( out of the health of our nerves )
