Yea. I don't think they'll move up. And more particularly a team ahead of them agreeing to move back. I'm sure they're having the conversations. But in the end, almost surely everyone stays where they are.

If the Habs don't want to take Michkov, then they don't take him at 5. They don't need to give up the assets to move up solely to avoid being in the position to pass on him.

In light of what was posted on r/habs about Michkovs attitude, there's just no way Hughes will draft him, no matter the skill level.

If all of the other big four are taken then yeah, it'll be Reinbacher

My bad. I should have written any thread that goes beyond 10 pages becomes repetitve. It was specifically the bolded I was referring to when I mentioned unfavorable response. I'm guilty as well but I try to wait at least 50 pages first. :laugh:

If I'm Hughes I'm calling SJ, CLB, and ANA to check on their asking price to move up - not because I necessarily want to move up but because I'm trying to gather info on who they're leaning towards, willingness to move (indicator they might like someone different than the consensus), and risk that they trade down with someone else. MTL media seem to have overblown these calls as a clear indication we are willing to pay a steep price to move up as opposed to intel gathering.

I think it’s possible it’s because they would like to end up with one of the big 5 but without the risk that comes with Michkov if the opportunity to move up is there and not necessarily that they have zero interest in taking him.

I am sure that Habs don't like the situation of being at 5th , but no way they would give assets just to not confront the situation
