So I'm not crazy?? :) Hallelujah!!

And yes if they pass on Michkov I need to know why, don't tell me you don't.
The reason, the reason ? Well, you've seen snow before, heh. Mich might become like many others of his kind. Don't be too naive, do we have to tell you word by word what can happen, it's a story that happened so many times. I can waste my time giving you names but you're wise enough to know.

Tkx for the :) Hallelujah!! visual, it's a good classic.

Ofcourse he might, that doesn't change my desire for answers. Especially when I wholeheartedly believe he's the guy we should take. I'm not asking what may happen down the road. I'd be asking if he was or wasn't on our wishlist come draft day.

I just hope after the draft if Michkov goes say 4th to San Jose, someone in the media asks if they would have taken Michkov 5th if he fell to them.

I really need to know.

Because all I know at this time, with 100 percent clarity, is that I personally couldn't pass on him. And I need to get my head right with this decision, which either way they choose to go.

Call me crazy, but It's just emphatically how much I believe in Michkov.

He's a mountain I'm willing to die on. I'm really hoping our scouts feel the same.

I have an amazing news for you and the Mitchkov fans ; IT WILL BE HIM !

i saw a monkey at the zoo yesterday and i asked him if Habs will pick the Russian. I give him a banana and tell him if the answer is yes, eat it if it's no, don't eat it .

And he eats the banana. See !:dm::banana:

Don't play with me man! That's basically irrefutable science!!

Now I'm really excited!! :) Bastard!! ;)

And please tell me you actually said the name Michkov when you asked and not just "the Russian"

Because I'll be pissed if we end up with some generic comrade because you jumped the gun and didn't word it properly.

Dude go outside and get some air

I see no problem with it.

Let's say the sharks take Smith instead, and he was also the guy the habs would have wanted if he fell to them, only they couldn't because San jose did. That would be no offense given to who the habs do pick.

Say Hughes says he would have gladly picked whoever was left in the top 5. Because on his draft board he would have been pleased with any of them.

It wouldn't make whoever's left at 5 look any less desirable. It would just be the nature of the position of the pick.
"We were thrilled when X fell to us at pick Y, we wanted to run to the podium to pick X"
-Every single GM in NHL history when discussing the player they just drafted

This is like going on a first date, and saying, "This is nice, but so you know, if Donna had been free tonight I would have gone out with her instead."

No it's not. See post here.

Chances are we are likely to know the full story and the reasoning behind it before Michkov ever laces up a skate in the NHL.

The Michkov posts are starting to border on lunacy the more the draft gets closer.
It's a form of mania caused by so many years of not having a star forward and many reports saying Michkov has star talent and may fall to 5 because of non-hockey issues. But we may not pick him because of those issues.

It's a mix that stirs up hope we may get him and anxiety he may slip through our hands and we'll go another 30 years without a star forward, etc...

I'm not going to say if this is true or not, but I find it hard to believe that Habs are trying to move up a spot or two in the draft so they can avoid being in the position where they have to decide whether they take Michkov or not, which has been something that has been suggested by quite a few people.

Moving up to take a player you want because you feel he won't be there at 5 is the motivation you move up for. But for people to suggest they want to move up to avoid taking a specific player is irrational. That borders on conspiracy theory levels.

That monkey is probably as prophetic as Hughes' daughter was with Bedard. :sarcasm:

Like everyone else, I want game breaking talent and I would be happy with the Michkov pick, but there should be no mistake here: Michkov is a prick and a bad teammate. It was obvious Datin gback to the last U18s he played when he kept bossing around his teammate and coaches with very bad body language.

IMO, the biggest risk isn't how he will transition to NHL or the wait, but how much of a problem he will be in the dressing room.

I could live with one of Smith, Michkov, Benson or Leonard but I would much prefer the first two.

I would be pissed of with Dvorsky, Reinbacher or Pelikka.
I've seen Will Smith play in person and while he's definitely highly skilled, he's a meh skater and useless without the puck. He's only 18 so he can obviously still evolve as a player but, FWIW, I don't see him becoming a top-tier, first line center in the NHL. I would be quite disappointed if we take him at 5.

I agree - moving up is strictly to target one of Fantilli / Carlsson IMO.

The reality is no team has actually moved up in 20-years or so .. not holding my breath

I agree with your list of the 4 you mentioned.

But I wouldn't be pissed if it was one of the other 3 you mentioned. I will probably be less excited, but I won't be pissed.
