I don't really get the logic of that swap between #4 and #5. There isn't enough difference between the quality of players between those to justify spending to get #4 from #5.

And during the Combine, the media were talking about there being a lots of teams contacting the Habs to get the #5 pick to take the guy Arizona wants.

if they're trying to move up to 4 that means Michkov won't get picked, that means they value the top 4 guys in the draft way above whoever is left at 5

and you're hoping someone in the top 4 has a player they really like who'd still be available at 5

At 31 he’s an easy selection to make. You’re not going to find more talented players at that spot.

I’d take many ahead of Cristall, including Molendyk, Rehkopf, Pitre, Sawchyn, Lardis and Terrance who all project to be better NHlers than Cristall. And better by a fair margin.

Yeah I read this as a confirmation that Michkov will be available at 5 and they rather pay to get Smith.

Benson seems to be ignored probably because of height. Maybe he will go a little sooner with Marchessault being playoff MVP.

It’s been easy to see for many months that the habs want Smith.

Maybe the sharks are bluffing with the articles that came out the last week about them being set on Smith. To make it look like they are deadset on Smith to make the habs pay more.

I can't see the actual draft. But if we got Benson and solid pick at #17 (can't see who).. we have the best draft outside of Chicago hands down.
