Definitely an intimidation tactic especially when having the female attorneys release them.

It is disgusting but effective especially with those who don't think what happened was a big deal.

Get ready for more victim blaming once the identities of the players gets confirmed.

Throw the book at these players and at the entire governing body.

Yeah. This whole scenario is just repulsive.

Mind numbing but that is the danger of plea deals
Plea deals have gotten so totally out of hand it is ridiculous. Justice in the western world is meted out by two sets of lawyers over coffee and doughnuts in conference room and judges rubber stamping everything.

Plea deals should be rare but are common place. Absurd, as is the argument that busy courts make it so you have to have plea deals.

This argument is so f***ing lazy.

Let’s take a house fire for example.

There’s a house fire happening in your house. Do you put it out? Or do you say that because there’s fires everywhere, it doesn’t matter?

I never said it doesn’t matter, but saying this is only a hockey issue is so dumb.

Ken Campbell's report combined with Thomas' statement today, further ruled out several more today.

Klague & Point are now cleared, as they were both US college players. Down to 11 now, I think.

With every passing day, and every passing report, the heat closes in on John Doe's 1 through 8.
Clague played for Brandon, he wasn't a college player

lol get your wokeness out of here banning a team over sexual assault four years ago none of them had any involvement in.. cleaning leadership at HC charging the 8 foools is enough.
It's not enough, and you're lying to yourself if you think HC is going to "clean leadership" between now and august 9th. The problems are deeply rooted and to address them, external pressure (such as IIHF sanctions, media pressure, gorverment inquiries, etc..) are needed. Every bit of pressure helps.

Bottom line is, if they want to appear the least bit credible, the IIHF has to step up and send a message to the world. It should be pointed out that the IIHF is not just a federation for men hockey player. They need to make a strong statement here, as a federation that also handles female hockey player events.

The fact people like you want to sweep this under the rug as 'just an incident from 4 years ago" is part of the problem. If we comfortably move on like you hope to because you have the empathy of a doorbell, we're never going to see changes. People like you need to be inconvenienced. Let's hope it happens.

Really hope that the rest who are innocent just come out with a statement soon
Except we will probably get the same copy and paste statement from everyone on the team with their hope names never come out - will be shocked if someone sends something different and there will be pressure on them all to make a statement now regardless

He is a good kid - not surprised.

My ex wife lives 2 doors down from Kyrou’s parents. He has taken pics with my son who plays U 11 competitive hockey. He’s super friendly and kind. I wish I knew how to post the pic.

It sure seems the “have not responded” are becoming clearer.
Who hasn’t responded anyone got a list

Everybody is pleading not guilty regardless of guilt or not.

This is not going to play out same way the Chicago Blackhawks scandal.

Everyone already participated in the so called investigation, settlement done and NDA's signed.

Everyone involved will lawyer up, players will not be the bad guy.

This will all fall on Hockey Canada, not the accused.

This is the one, this one right here. In all my years on HFBoards, I've been searching for the "most HFBoards take of all time", and I think I've finally found it.

It just hits every single nail perfectly on the head. If this were an F1 qualifying lap, you'd have gone purple in all 3 sectors here.

You got off to a perfect start with the full fledged plan to solve moral injustice for good. Look at you, thinking 6, maybe 7 years ahead with this full on plan to guarantee that "everybody wins". Then at the end of that paragraph, one could only read this and imagine the brilliant scene where at the age of 30, the victim, the hockey players who sexually assaulted her, and all of these ever so greatful heads of charities all get together for a beer at the local Applebee's, reminisce about the "good ol' days", and laugh off that "one crazy night" that landed them all in one big misunderstanding. Boys will be boys and all that!

Oh, then there's the sheer confidence in your mathematical breakdown of exactly how much every perpetrator should pay, as well as to who within society gets which portion of that breakdown and their scheduled annual installments. I absolutely dig the confidence here. A level of energy here that no one has seen since Babe Ruth called the direction of his Home Run a century ago. Absolutely stunning.

But it's the last point that really takes the cake. The first two made this an A-tier HFBoards take, but it's the obvious reveal of your agenda, the part where you practically admit to everyone that the only think you truly care about here, is "the teams" (which I can only reasonably assume includes the team that you happen to support), not "getting screwed over" for having drafted or traded for players they didn't know participated in a gang rape. Those poor teams, the real victims in all of this! That right there brought this right to the top of the S tier. An all-time post I hope is forever saved for the world to look back upon. I can finally say that my time here on HFB, from when I joined I don't know how many years ago, is now worth it.

Thank you, just...thank you.
Thank you I appreciate the kind words and your appreciation for my post, you have good taste. You should print it out and hang it on your wall as well so you never forget it.

Damn I don't want to microanalyze but "did not engage in any of the misconduct that has been described in the media" is not the same as did not participate in the alleged event. Very open ended....
