Edmonton/Calgary
I live on the south side of Calgary, where there's really nothing but suburbs. The north side at least has some good places to shop and hang out but they're a lengthy drive away. It would be nice if Crossiron wasn't about 45 minutes away.

The Stampede is fun to take people to if they haven't seen it before.

Ahh yes. The sprawl is awful and definitely one of the worst parts of the city. I do think Calgary and Edmonton get a lot of fun stuff for cities our size, but if I had millions to drop on a house I wouldn't be in Alberta haha.

Yes... if only we all had a CrossIron Mall in our neighborhood. LOL.
You need to get a life my friend.
I also am not a big fan of country music but still manage to keep myself amused. I actually like the Blues and the King Eddy has been one of my favorite to indulge myself... even before the remodel. Actually especially before the remodel.

Its a fun city to visit for a week or so, or at least was in my 20's when I was there a couple times per year for work. Then again hanging ut with NBA players/cheerleaders probably skewed my view, I mean even Winnipeg wasn't bad back then.
People always complain about Winnipeg. I've never lived there but have often enjoyed visiting. Mainly because of the people. I find there's a lot of unique and interesting folks there, which is something I like.

Portage & Main is a hellaciously cold and windy intersection at this time of year. A veritable wind tunnel which is not pleasant at -20C. Don't visit in the winter.

I travelled Canada and the US extensively, and Winnipeg is near the bottom of the list for me. It's ok for a weekend in the late summer, but compared to most it's fairly bland and borin in general. But everyone has different views and expectations of cities, so Winnipeg may be great for lots of people.

What can't you do in Calgary? I think you just need to get out more. For a city of 1.5 million I don't know what more you can expect.

Disclosure: I hate country music.
I live in Calgary. It’s a nice city and the cost of living seems better then most cities in Canada. I do miss the water out east. When I lived in Ottawa it was never a far drive to a river or lake to take the canoe out for the day and swim in water that isn’t freezing.

Like I say, for me I tended to enjoy the people. I didn't have much time to go out and do stuff.

Weber gave an extra emphasis elbow to JT. Cannot stand JT's (NYI) antic(s), but not a fan of Weber's 'maneuver.' JT's star is fading though, skating was good-very good (now avg).

That said, MTL are riding from their bubble experience. They augmented, would like to see them in a 'real' season. I like the team, their series v. PHI opened my eyes. Domi was basically a 4th liner (in that series), for Anderson. Let's see how Anderson's health holds up.

Ahh i see why you feel his star is fading then.. Dude literally has 14 points in 14 games this year haha. and 60/63 last year. Hes always good for 80 to high 80's points over a full season, that's pretty good. The bias is showing!

Makes the main boards 200% more bearable -- then I don't have to see a bunch of ppl talking to themselves and wonder who the f*** their talking to.

Trust me, you won't regret it.

I am going to do it lol

The best part about Calgary is the proximity to the Rockies.

Well aside from an injury riddled season Toronto has been finishing near the top of the league for a little while playing against Boston and Tampa regularly so not sure why anything would change (given they've improved the weakest part of their game)? Better than? Hard to say. Same tier.....more than likely.

Decimated D at the time Toronto beat Tampa the last 2 games too.

I love the Canadian division but part of me would like to have seen the Atlantic division craziness.

I don't think the Caps have the D to hold off them anymore.
Where would the top Canadian teams be in the East division?

Better than
Bruins? no
Grittys? no
Caps? no
Islanders? questionable

Both the Leafs and Habs would be fighting the Bruins for first. Would a fun division.

Yup. The jobs still pay well (if you have one) and it's affordable. I would rather get ahead when I am younger and Calgary is a great place for that. The mountains make it easier and having the BC interior kind of close helps to, but the lack of lakes does suck in the summer.

So if Edmonton wins tonight they will be tied with habs in points. I don’t think anyone seen that coming last week.
No denying Habs struggling a bit since putting the screws to the Nucks, but even if Oil win tonight they've played an extra 2 games.

P% still heavily favours the Habs.

Who's Oilers goalie tonight?
