At least half of the Canadian fans are Leafs fans who had to live through the disallowed game 7 goal against Tampa, so that's something at least.

The first goal should've counted, and even if the second should have been overturned for this to happen twice is both optically embarrassing and incredibly unlikely.

That 3rd goal looked fine to me, could have been a different game.

A team doesn't always get the calls, Milic made a ton of some great saves too, he saved us on way too many occasions.

I don't know about that; the first goal is 50/50 when watched from different angles. Second goal doesn't count in any league.
Refs also clearly missed the too many men on the ice call vs USA in the 3rd

I didn’t think we’d win gold this year. I’m hoping Cooley stays in college and can play next year. I wasn’t a big fan of our offense overall.

Hughes had a bad tournament considering expectations. Cooley was far and away our best player and one of the best of the tournament. He’s improved so much.

It was going to be really tough to beat this Canadian team.

But he wasn't one of the best in the tournament, not even close.
Kulich, Jiricek, Svozil, Roy, Bedard, Stankoven were better. You could also claim that Spacek and Sapovaliv and perhaps even Mesar and Carlsson have been just as good. I guess you've not watched the other teams play that much?

This is why caring about sports is objectively stupid. When the refs are this bad, the competition literally doesn’t matter and results are invalid.

The US were inferior all night and do what they usually do. Goon it up all over the ice. Try scoring real goals instead of needing to drill the goalie?? I knew when I was watching the game I’d see a bunch of US fans crying

The OHL is the best junior league in the world, and it's leading scorer (Ty Voit) wasn't even invited to the US camp.

But that's US hockey politics - favour players in the USHL, even if it hurts the team. Voit may not have the same NHL potential as other guys, but he's clearly quite dominant at the junior level.
