to be fair point is one of those players that nobody talks about for some reason. Really under the radarThis is a pretty weird take considering Point has had his two highest goal scoring seasons since then.

He had a few IIRC.
How is this excuses? lol It's just a straight up fact. I love how on HFboards, making completely valid observations based on results is often labeled "excuses".Excuses.
As usual McDavid building up his stats against weak competition. If McDavid can skate like this against the USA, the Americans are in trouble.
Nah, Saros has been awful this year. I guess Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen has been really solid this year but he hasn't played a single minute. You have better goalies than Canada.
weird criticism when he was the only one to score against the statesAs usual McDavid building up his stats against weak competition.
Except this time the U.S. has the talent to match the “sleeping giant”If there one thing that loss to the US may have done, just like in 2010, was awake a sleeping giant.
Disagree: the Lundell line has had chances. I think Barkov is doing a lot but Rantanen isn’t keeping up. Hope to see some big changes for the secondfinland can't keep up
the only line that can even do remotely anything is the Rantanen-Barkov line, but even then they haven't been able to get anything in the net

We Can and We Will!Imagining giving marner 13 mil for the next 8 yrs, get rekt
Him having a bad tournament helps the Leafs a bit. Unless he rips up the playoffs, which he won't.Imagining giving marner 13 mil for the next 8 yrs, get rekt
He wasn't very good in his first game, but Lankinen did nothing to inspire any kind of confidence that he should get this game.
The win the other day had nothing to do with him whatsoever.
Honestly, EVERY goal on Lankinen in this game has been poor. The rebound on the last goal stunk.
And I would say at least 2 of the 3 goals he allowed against Sweden were HORRIBLE. Gustavsson and Ullmark somehow combined for weaker goals. The quality of goals in that entire game were just so weak.
They're already throwing in the towel on this game by not making a goalie change.
