in best on best?.... I dont think so
In everything we've been playing recently. Canadians/Americans (=NHL's) fault we haven't seen best on best so we're ranking the countries based on what they do on the ice not how they look like on paper

I have a lot more respect for teams that are thrown together a few weeks before a tournament starts and manage to become a cohesive unit, working together under difficult circumstances. If I'm not mistaken that is every team in this tournament but one.

My earnest hope in this tournament is that Czech hockey is back, that Czech kids see this and want to be out there on the ice, competing to be best in the world again. We fans get the benefit when more players play, when more greatness is inspired.
Our first line are all eligible next year... Sapo, sale and maybe Kulich.

Hamara back on D with Alscher and Dvorak

Should have three drafted goalies.

2 years from now.. we are back to sbozils and jiriceks.lol

Congrats to Canada finally winning one without taking away goals from the other team.

Which one doesn't fit that criteria in your mind?

Edit: I don't really know. The only one I could *kinda* understand the jab would be USA with so many players being from the USNTDP, but at the same time, any country could put together such a program if they wanted, so I still don't think it really fits.

I almost missed your post because I was too busy celebrating a Gold Medal victory that literally just happened.
Congrats, have good celebrations! It'll probably be my time to celebrate when it's next men's tournament

We gave Shane Wright a lot of flak in this tournament, but he was an absolute beast tonight. So happy to see him parading that trophy around the rink.
All the NHLers got flak, but in the end they carried the team in the gold medal game. Wright with a tremendous goal, Guenther with the other two goals plus an assist, Clarke with two assists.

only thing I dont agree with in 3 on 3 in OT.... they should at least do 5 on 5 for 20 mins to start OT
Yes, obviously it's here to stay but I do know I can't help but think we are being cheated (as are the teams, obviously). 5-on-5 for at least a period is what I will always want.
Oh well, maybe in my next life when I am recincarnated as a garden slug I will have other more pressing things to consider...

no, youre ranking the countries that way..... may as well base it on the Spengler Cup tounrnament while youre at it

Canada havent lost a best on best since 2006, thats 5 REAL tournaments ago

you really think Finland would beat Canada with that D core? funny

Does any other country outside of Canada and TSN care so much about this tournament or hype it up so much?

I'm happy Canada won and it's good to be a global villain. But it reminds me of the old Canada Cup, except it's the Junior Canada Cup now. With no Russia, it really doesn't feel the same.

Canada needs to address a few things going forward that's for sure.
I think there's good reason to hype this tournament so much as you get to see the next generation of young hockey talent playing their hearts out for their country and the gold medal. Have seen so many great games and great moments come from this tournament over the years and I'm glad its become a major event that people who enjoy hockey can look forward to every year coming out of the holidays and new years. :)

And sure it matters most in Canada and gets the most attention here compared to elsewhere, but hockey is Canada's game after all.
